Post subject: | 245/75R16 with ARB Bull Bar on 2006 Limited CRD? |
Hello Everyone, This is my first post and my first KJ I recently received one of the last 2006 KJ Limited CRD's in Blaze Red thru JeepWarehouse.com and I love it. I've also already purchased the CRD Frankenlift II, RockRails, Super Skid II, ARB Bull Bar, Spider Rock Ring and Kilbey Tank Skid; all sitting in the garage for the last 4 weeks. I purchased BFG Allterrains 245/75R16 from Discount Tire, which are waiting for me to pickup. The guys who are going to be helping me install all this great stuff Memorial weekend are concerned that the 245s will look too small once I put the ARB bull bar on and feel that I should change the 245s to 265s before I pick them up. Can anyone with the ARB bull bar provide any feedback on whether the 245s should be replaced with 265s. I'm not looking to experiment with my first set of tires, but I don't want it to look funny either. This vehicle will probably see 75 road and 25 off-road. My off road will be relatively tame trails until I get more comfortable with the vehicle and get past the "oh my God it's only 5 weeks old!" For the time being I'm going to continue to use the stock Aluminum wheels that came with the KJ, the heavier looking ones. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. |

265 look fine also but will rub alot more maybe some wheel spacer for 265 AFAIK, you will *need* a wheel spacer to run 265s on stock wheels (I have seen nobody running 265 without one). You will probably also need the spacer even for MOAB rims (with the 5.0 backspacing). a lower backspace you might be able to get away with no spacers. |

I have an ARB on my KJ with 245's. I also have Cragar Soft 8's with 4 inch backspacing. My passanger tire rubs on the washerbottle skidplate. Watch out for that spot. Oh and 245's look fine with an ARB. |

When did they get the Franken lift for the CRD? I just have the Daystar! Dang I should have waited! So I guess that will handle the weight of the ARB |

I received it the last week of April. As to it supporting the ARB... we will find out! After I received it, I saw the photos of Rock Lizards front bumper. Now I'm wondering.... |
