What fits better, 235/85-i6 or 265/75-i6 the 265 appers to be shorter but wider. I really want the 235/85's

From what I can see of some of the various brands, the 235/85's run about 32+ " tall where most 265/75's run almost 32" tall.

Based on al lthat, I am pretty darn sure I will be going w/ 235/85-16 MT/R's for my next KJ tire purchase. I think the narrower, taller tire + a little lighter than 265, will work great on the KJ. That style of tire works great on the big 'ol Rovers, tall & skinny.

So the chart is for BFGs, I assume it also applies to most ATs. I am looking at General Grabber AT2s for my unlifted '07 sport, size 245/70 R16. These will fit without any problems then? Is this the biggest size I can get? Thanks in advance for the help and patience, I am tire illiterate.

Add the BFG Commercial T/A tires to the "Will FIT" list - 215/85/16 30" outer diameter, 696 rev/mile. I'm wearing them on my 05 KJ now, without any lift, and no rubbing.

The next set will be the 31.4 outside diameter 235/85 Commercial tires, but that will be a LONG time from now, since these are 50k mile tires. :D

Based on all this, a 238/85/16 will fit a frankenlifted kj with some basic trimming and pounding the pinch weld? Though it will take a beating on the MPG, and liekly take away a bit of power.... Still, it would be a great tire, and give you a very nice extra bit of height :idea:

This site has the ability to compare tire sizes. Especially if you intend on changing rim sizes. The chart tells what the differences in overall dimensions will be. I believe its been posted before. Here it is again.

Okay so let's assume I've installed a Frankenlift - will I be able to fit LT 285/70R16 E tires on a '02 KJ? I really want the new Nitto Trail Grappler's and the size I've inquired about here is currently the smallest they come in. Anything else will be 2nd choice and I won't be (as) happy.

(fwiw, these tires will mount onto 16x7 steel rims).

how tall/wide are the Nitto 285-70-16s ? Plus on a 7 inch stock wheel I would think the wider tire would rub on the sway bar pretty bad when turning. I do some with the 265-75s

So I guess I need to either buy a real Jeep (j/k - sort-of) or go with the new E load range BFG AT KO's (I hate the white letters) or maybe the new Mickey Thompson crossbred AT/MT tires ??

Sometimes owning a KJ is a real bummer. :roll:

Owning a Liberty makes you think and dig more of what you can do, search more for things you need, wheel better because you don't point and go like a 4 inch lifted Red Rubicon does on 35s. So all in all, a Liberty's better and more fun I think! :lol:

235/65R17* No Rubbing w/o Lift okay so I'm pretty cluesless when it comes to tires. I buy my size and the ones that look cool but now I need some help.

I took my Jeep way off road, actually out of the country. Its an 07 sport 4x4 with the 5 spoke 17 inch rims.
There are no 235/65R17s here. Really I checked all the auto shops all of them, it took me half a day.
Can anyone suggest some alternative sizes I can consider that won't rub.
Maybe a lower profile? without looking too ghetto.
Half my driving is off road. Okay honestly it's just only half the place has road.

Please help the roads/rubble here killed a set of tires in 14,000 miles :JEEPIN:
