I have a 2007 4 door wrangler jk. It's a 2.8 CRD.
The engine will crank but not start. The tachometer will show the cranking rpm for 3 seconds, then the tacho drops to zero, even if I keep cranking.
The fuel rail will build pressure initially, but when the tacho drops to zero it seems to drop the fuel rail pressure too.
If crank it for only 2 seconds, before the tach drops to 0, the pressure will build, but it won't fire.
I've replaced the solenoid on the back of the fuel rail. The previous owner replaced the crank position sensor.
I think it might be the ECU detecting a fault, any ideas?
