Remote start is a great way to get your vehicle stolen without any clues. Its been happening with Honda's in europe for the past year, although I cannot find the article I first read about it online now.

What are you talking about? My "05" CRD will not run without the chip in the key. The remote starter over rides that to the point. If you touch the brake it shuts down. You can't possibly shift into gear without touching the brake.
Have your dealer install the remote starter. This way if there are any problems it falls on them to make it right.

I have experienced a couple different Grand Cherokees with remote start. One was a 2007 which had the mopar remote start added on and worked great. The other was a 2008 that actually came with remote start, also worked great. They wait for the glow plugs before they actually crank the engine, it's very nice.

My 2008 GC CRD came with remote start. I love it!
