Help!!!! We have a 06 liberty crd. We love it for when we are in Texas. Here in Michigan for the summer it has developed a problem. Three times now it has refused to start. We had to crank on it over a poeriod of time until it caught. then it would start just fine. The local dealer wants to replace the injector pump with out even running codes. It goes down the road with plenty of pick up and runs smooth. A friend of a friend told us these were bad for air leaking inti fuel system. He said we should install a fuel pump in the tank.
Any one else have this problem? What is the fix ?? Thank you for any help ypu can give us.

Howdy Larry

First you might try posting over in the CRD section - gets more attention.

Sir Sam's Noob guide is a great read

- but probably won't answer the no -start

First - dealerships are generally clueless - your's sounds like money hungry too
there are specific tests on the injector pump - if they haven't run those - they can't say it's an issue.

Are you running the original battery? - on these beasts you have to have the voltage to turn on the computer, having the current to turn the engine doesn't count - different things.

also the original fuel head leaks air - has yours been replaced with the new style??
next time it has a problem starting - pump the fuel primer and see if it's hard - if there's air - it's leaking.

And Welcome to LOST

I agree with the fuel head leaking. Have seen it several times here with Libbys.
