Post subject:  Whooshing noise & Acceleration Issues

Hi All

My first post - go easy on me

Hopefully in the right section, but I'd like to ask about a potential "issue" on my Jeep Patriot 2.0 CRD 2008 - manual. I say "issue" in that it may not be an issue at all.

I've read up about whooshing noises when releasing the accelerator, and whilst I'm not 100% sure what it is yet, I'd like to also suggest that it may be linked to a possible acceleration issue that I seem to be having. Through most of the gears (mainly 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th) when I increase the gas and begin to raise the clutch to engage the next gear up, acceleration is delayed. If I put my foot down to increase the gas (with clutch fully up) for about 1-2 seconds there will be no acceleration until it "kicks in". I honestly don't think it's a bite issue or the lack of gas to get the bite.

I don't know if it's related to the whooshing sound, as this is only when releasing the accelerator (turbo?) but thought it interesting to ask.

Cheers,
Lee
