I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty TRD with almost 200,000 miles on it. I recently heard an air leak in the driver side of the engine compartment when under boost. I took a look under the hood and noticed the Inlet Intercooler Air Charge Hose had split. I order the part and replaced the hose. I thought that would fix the problem. About a week later, I heard the same type of sound coming from the front driver side of the engine compartment. I inspected the hose to make sure I clamped it down properly and it is. I had a friend push on the gas while I looked for the leak.

I noticed an air and oil mixture coming from the hose that runs from the driver's side of the engine to the passenger side of the A/C condenser. This appears to be the A/C Discharge line. I am not a mechanic, however, I am mechanically inclined. I could be wrong, but that is what it appears to be. It is the closest line to the front bumper that runs across the top of the radiator. The leak is coming from the clamp that connects the rubber hose to the metal line.

My first thought was to buy and replace the line but I have a feeling there might be a bigger problem. The engine seems to run normally when not under boost. It idles properly and starts right up. There are no warning lights on. My MPG is down about 5 MPG. When I try to accelerate under boost, I hear a hissing sound and the boost increases then decrease, up and down until I let off.

I would test the A/C but it is winter here and it will blow cold are anyway.

Has anyone experienced this issue or know what may be causing it and have a fix?

I really appreciate that help.
