I recently started having an issue where my oil light is coming on when I brake either moderately-hard, or down hills / around sharp corners. First thing I obviously checked was my oil level, but it is just fine. I changed my oil about 3 weeks ago using the same oil and filter combo that I always use. I'm thinking that it could be a bad oil pump.

Before I start replacing parts, I'm just curious if others have had this issue with their KK, and what they did to fix it.

If it is an oil pump, how hard is this to do on the 3.7? From what I read, you have to drop the oil pan and the remove the timing chain and tensioners.

Not an easy job...
Anyway, you can try draining the oil, then bang the bottom of the oil pan and listen for a clunk. It is possible the pickup filter came off the pickup tube.
You are correct the oil pan, pickup tube, timing chain cover and timing chain have to be removed to gain access to the oil pump.

meh... Well I'm changing lower ball joints, and rotors and brakes all around this weekend... while I'm at it, I'll check the pickup tube filter.

The oil pan is a pain to get off. After you remove the pan bolts you have to reach inside and remove the pickup tube bolts before you can drop the pan.
I have not dropped my pan yet but have looked at the SM instructions. Not looking forward to the day when I have to do this...
