I have the factory tow package with the 7pin harness at the back. I need to install a brake controller and from what I've read online, there should be a blue wire taped up under the dash coming from the 7pin plug at the back. Can't find it. Anyone know where it is exactly?
I did find a red wire(cut off, no connector on it) behind the drivers side kick panel. Anyone know what that is for? There's not power to it.
Thanks

It might not be there.
My 07 didn't have it. Just run your own (technically 2, as the 7-pin has brake control and B+.)

Thanks, I guess I'll do that.

On my KJ it was a blue and white wire looped up and tucked behind the panel left of the driver's foot.

pretty sure that was the kit I bought back in the day, or at least one like it.
has all the bits needed to adapt the 4-wire to 7-wire. I definitely remember the grey cable though.

Funny thing is, at the 7pin connector, the brake wire is pink/white. Didn't believe it at first so I went up further into the wire loom thinking the wire color must have faded. Yup, it's pink with a white tracer. This is factory. I wouldn't be surprised if the loose red wire under the dash is my brake wire. Thanks Jeep, can't follow a simple color code.

Just found another thread stating that the brake wire on some 07 Kjs is red and not blue. So that answers my question. Hope this helps someone else.
