In this video I was at stock height. To give you an example I have been in water that was about 6" deep then this. The water was rushing over the hood.

You can get pretty deep, more will depend on how long you are going through the deep water. Obviously the longer you are crossing very deep water the more chance you have to have an issue. Just remember slow and steady and you should be OK for most water crossings.

That's a good question. I've seen an actualy depth specified by Jeep liturature for some other models, but not this one. Maybe I just haven't found it yet.

Is it in your manual? I don't remember the exact number...but I know the KJ manual stated what the depth was. I think 21".

I have never looked for it.
But I think if you have a Trail Rated or Trail Tested badge it should be Documented...

As that has to be 1 test...

If I did water sport in my KK, I might set up a bozzer alarm tellme if I get with in 2 inches of the limit.

That's not a bad idea. Since getting water in the airbox is probably the limiting factor of water fording depth (assuming breather tubes have been extended), you could maybe rig up something to let you know if you start to get water in the bottom of your airbox or when the water gets close to the bottom edge of the airbox intake. That wouldn't be very difficult.

most boat shops sell this kit for boats..
So it has to be easy to find..

Or even wire it to a Light.

I don't think it's in the manual. I'm almost positive I read it going through all the options on Jeep's site but the KK they say is 21''

A certain person on here told me 20". I won't name names because of his ego. I myself have only been into 19".

Flowing Water
If the water is swift flowing and rising (as in storm
run-off) avoid crossing until the water level recedes
and/or the flow rate is reduced. If you must cross
flowing-water, avoid depths in excess of 9 inches. The
flowing water can erode the streambed causing your
vehicle to sink into deeper water. Determine exit point(s)
that are downstream of your entry point to allow for
drifting.
Standing Water
Avoid driving in standing water deeper than 20 inches,
and reduce speed appropriately to minimize wave effects.
Maximum speed in 20 inches of water is less than 5
mph (8 km/h).

Now that certainly sounds official - where'd this come from Digger?
