what does your liberty idel at. I'm seeing mine slightly over 1000rpm. Anyone else?
And gas mileage seems to suck in mine compared to my 04. I have only filled the tank twice, but seems like i'm getting a little over 200 - 230 miles and i have barely used four wheel drive this winter.

Let's put it this way. I'm at a half a tank of gas and 100 miles :furious:

At least on my 04, i got about 290 per tank

Put on 5K miles and then start looking at your MPG

Untill that point you will just get angry...

All of us had the same problem...

You could also be driving around town which isn't gonna get the "amazing"(use that term lightly) numbers that highway driving would get you. And mine idles around 600ish I would say. On the cold winter starts she idles around 1000-1200, but drops after a few minutes or some driving. I find the colder, the higher she idles.

My wife's 2012 KK only gets about 200-220miles MAX out of a 16-17 gallon fillup. But she barely drives, as her job is 5 miles away and it's all stop-n-go chicago traffic. Every once in a while, we'll use her Jeep to run errands and do local grocery shopping. While I can get 260 miles out of a 15 gallon fillup. Sometimes her display shows 12-14MPG city, but once we get to the suburbs, less traffic lights, 40-50MPH speed limits, we'll see up to 18MPG. Highway in the KK, about the same as my KJ, 17-18MPG. I have a pretty heavy foot and don't really think about MPGs on the highway :JEEPIN:

Not sure how much difference those 20's make as well on MPGs. With the little driving we do on her KK, since we bought it new in late September 2011, only has 1,600 miles. Kind of sucks there's a noise already developing in the suspension, so it has to be taken in soon to get it checked out.

EDIT: Last time I drove her Jeep, she had half a tank at 105 miles as well. :ALONE:

Best tank so far (mostly highway in colorado) 344.8 miles, KK had @ 500 miles on it. Yes I set cruise, yes I looked at the Econ light and yes I drove it way into the low gas light. If you're always on the gas, it'll cost ya with the "Brick". Agree with above posts, hopefully as she breaks in (5k+) she'll get better, but just city driving, I drive like miss daisy, usually. :ROTFL:

Our new Renegade gets 15 in town and 20 on the road. I have no doubt you could easily squeeze another 2 mpg out of the city driving if the trans was programed differently. It kicks down much to easily and takes way to long to up shift under light throttle. There is reason to be running around at 2,200 RPM in town just to maintain speed in traffic. I sure hope someone makes an after market program to fix this.

Stock for stock, after break-in, my '04 also got slightly better mileage than my '10.

I don't get it. I know the KK is heavier but it's not THAT much heavier.

I'd also venture that it has the aerodynamics of a brick...

The KJ having the aerodynamics of a slightly rounder brick...

Yes she does...I stand corrected, drivin' fo' Miss Daisy. Filled up Miss Daisy ca', she got 290.3 miles on that tank, maybe a 1/16 or so to go, didn't feel like playing the fuel light game again. Like I said not too bad for a brick. (@18.96mpg meh) :JEEPIN:

You get twice what I'm getting but mine is almost 100% city driving and I drive mine like I stole it.

Those mods don't help either lol. But like your sig says, you didn't build it for gas mileage. It did make for an awesome truck though

The KJ having the aerodynamics of a slightly rounder brick...

Thing is, the KK has a lower drag rating than the KJ.

Now that I have jogged my memory, my KJ had 215s stock.
My mileage dropped like a rock when I installed 245s, and is very near what my KK gets.

Even stock, my KK with its 235s was still worse than my KJ with 215s.

Yeah, I do a lot of long miles on cruise control averaging 55 to 60 mph...

It is still $15 bucks a day to drive to and from work

I'll say it again; There is much fuel wasted because of the assinine programing. Watch your tach. just driving around town, my is often running at 2,100 to 2,300 RPM when it should upshift and run at 1,200 to 1,400 RPM. Maybe it's just mine, but my MPG numbers are right with everyone else, 15 arounf town and 20 on the freeway.
