So it cost me $38 to fill the Jeep the other night...That's the cheapest since I've owned it! Almost 18 gallons of gas, just under 200 miles on the tank, and 11.x mpg...woohoo!

And side thought, what's with that 5600rpm limiter. Redline isn't til 6k or so. I know it shifts before redline when floored, but never knew there was an actual limiter until this snow storm...

$1.84 in Harrisonburg Virginia. 19 gallons for $36. every time I visit there I don't scream when I fill up. I enjoy it!

why don't all of us jeep owners move south or to the mid west!

There is a place about 5-10 miles north of Harrisonburg that always has the cheapest gas around. I fill up there every chance I get.

sorry that's south. Hess has the cheapest gas that I've seen off of 81 so far since I've been visiting Virginia.

not sure any jeeps besides the compass patriot and possibly the renegade have good mileage. id have better mileage if I didn't keep the rpms near 2300 rpm all the time.

I don't consider 21-22 on the highway that bad for a 4 wheel drive the size and weight of mine. Better than anything else I want to drive
But the KKs for some reason don't get the mileage KJs do

Dead serious...technically I used to live there but I moved back into WV to stop spending so much on fuel (100mi of mountains as a daily commute SUCKS). But I'm only 30min away from Harrisonburg. It's where I get my groceries haha.

I hear you! shockingly I got around 15mpg (12 usually in PA) going up and down the mtns. especially Jonesboro road to the wintergreen area.

well there's plenty of good trails an hour south. big levels and shoe creek are my absolute favorites. theres another one but im waiting to hear back from my friend what the trail was called.

The mountains I drive are a little worse than 81 haha. Next time you come down here I'll lead you through the National Forest and go through those trails haha. Well, as long as weather is permitting... It's all mountainside trails so when it's icy it's not worth losing a life over.

gotcha. the only times I visit Virginia is when my friend is on break in summer or is free on the weekends. him and I usually go out every morning on a trail. he has a Tacoma with a lsd. it does pretty good. mines better though with the lockers, shorter body, and approach angles. next time hes out for awhile ill let you know!

and the other trail that is very scenic is a trail off of the park way. sort of near apple orchard mountain. id highly recommend that trail and shoe creek. I did shoe creek stock. twice. haven't done it yet since I've been lifted. big levels is easy and very very challenging in sections. I also did the trail stock and lifted. and that's the trail I thought my jeep was a submarine on.

found a couple of "trails" near Roanoke. first one on the "trail" that day.

Best I ever saw was about 21mpg. That's pure interstate and stock though...

really? I do 73 mph max on 81 and get 22-24 mpg (stock and lifted). that's if its a nice calm and not windy day. this past weekend I got around 20 because it was very windy and my engine kept ramping up to 36k rpm. in some cases when I passed a truck going up hill it jumped all the way up to 42k rpm. those trucks really blew me around!

Wow, can't believe gas is that cheap up there. It's about $1.90 here right now.

We've been on a steady drop lately. Every day or so it was dropping 1 or 2 cents. Then it leveled out around $2.30, then again at ~$2.20.

If I ever lose my mind completely & move back to the Northeast, this will be my Jeep!

Don't. Not worth it. My commute to work this morning consisted of -9 degree temperatures and completely ice and snow covered roads.
