Oh, and for those wondering, a 30.5" nominal OD tire will fit in the spare tire cavity. I test fit one of my 245/75R16 MT/Rs on my aftermarket wheels up in there. Although close to snug against my tow package, in my opinion, there is adequate clearance to all items underneath the back end of the KK. This week I'm taking in my spare and having it changed to put a 245/70R17 MT/R on it so I'll have a matching off-road and OD tire with me as my spare.

What would you guys recommend as the biggest tire that can fit on a stock 09 Liberty without rubbing?

Stocks are 235/65/17

would 245/70/17's be reasonable? I don't know if 245/75/17 would fit.

I fit a 30" tall and 10.2" wide tire without any rubbing issues. That was a 255/70-16. I also had wheels with a +25 offset which helped the no rubbing issue.

Would those fit with a 17" wheel?

So does a 245-75-16 fit with no lift or not? I know it will rub, but how much? (pre-lift right now).

I am running 245 75 R16 GY MTR with Kevlar on steel generic rims with 35 mm backspacing, no lift. If that is close to stock back space? Things look close up front while turning but havent noticed any major issues. Also I don't do severe off road, no lift, no skid plates, but I plan on going off road where I have been before (4low) to see if I have any probs. Posted pics in Flex link. Good luck.

KK WHEEL NOMINAL SIZE-DIAMETER & WIDTH: OEM

Wheel Manufacturer: OEM

KK TIRE SIZE SPEC: 235/70/16
Tire Brand-Model: Cooper Discoverer HT

SUBSEQUENT CLEARANCE:

I just want to add that we should really have a ratings scale for tires, too. Lets everyone know what our tire choices are good for, or bad at. Mine, were an "only choice" replacement for my oem Goodyears. I had a bad alignment from a bad mechanic, and had burned off the inner tread in 700 miles on a 2k mile roadtrip. These tires were off an Exploder, and were the only ones anywhere nearby that were a matching set. (and nearest size).

Ratings:

WET: 1/10
DRY: 9/10
Snow: N/A

Been a while since I've been. Good to see some of the same bunch still here. I put a 3 inch EMU lift (new springs, shocks an A arms). Looking to put a taller tire on this sprint. Currently have 255/65-16 Hankook Dynapro's. http://www.discounttire.com/infohankook ... oatm.html_

I think they are 30.5 or 31inches Tall. No rub now before or after lift. Thought about going to the next size wheel (17's) but would like to just find a nice tall fat tire that will fit my current stock wheel. Any suggestions?
