thats very expensive
Not as expensive if you factor in the exchange rate and ask them for an export price. We have much higher income in OZ compared to the US, so we pay much more too.
For example it is much cheaper for me to buy an OZ built ARB product from the US and import it back home than to get it locally. Reason being is that to sell in your market the price needs to be competitive and in line with income. I'd suggest that US based LOST KK drivers organise a group purchase and then you'll get an even better deal.
Also keep in mind that in Australia it is illegal to install a "home made" bumper. Worse than that insurance is voided for these vehicles if they are involved in an accident (now that's expensive).
Over here all frontal protection placed on a vehicle with airbags must be designed to be compatible with those systems, then also undergo and pass crash testing which is a costly process.
The bars here are all robot cut, folded and often welded too. So there's no comparing them to the manually fabricated small production sellers.
