I am thinking September 7th, or the 14th...

What do you guys think?

One more question...
Is it ok to go without the skid plate?

I don't have my skid plate yet(Saving for it)

No skidplates will be ok driving there and sitting in the parking lot.
IF you have really good guides then maybe you'd be OK on the very easiest of trails BUT all it takes is one slip the wrong way and bam transmission is done / pan smashed

Not bad. You'll need nutserts, the hardware should come with them.

Definitely can't make those dates, too soon for me to even try to get off. Ted, do you know where I can get nutserts and how many I need? I bought my skids from a friend and didn't get the nutserts with em.

I'll just toss this date out there: Sat, Oct 26th. Jeff Daniels Jeeps is hosting an off road ride at Rausch Creek that day. We can hook up with that crew and show those Wrangler guys what a Liberty can do. Being later in October, it will give us time to plan our lives around it and save up our pennies.
Here is the info link on Jeff Daniels Jeeps' website: http://www.jeffdanielsjeeps.com/jd/events.ashx

I picked up nutzerts for my skid plates at the dealer. They had them in stock.

Do you know how many you needed?

Hmmm, good question. Not off the top of my head. I could crawl under there tomorrow and see, and let you know. Some of the bolts go into threaded holes and some require nutzerts. Which skids do you need to install?

P.S. why in the world are we doing LOST at 1:30 AM?

Well clearly we have nothing better than Jeeps on our mind lol. I think it's just the engine, tranny and t-case skids.

I did go there completely stock on the guided coal mine tour which was awesome. However I was worried every time I heard something hit my undercarriage. I can do 9/7, 9/14 or the 10/26 date. For most the 10/26 might make sense, as mentioned time to prepare, ect. I really need a spare tire before we go. I will need to make a trip to the local junk yard for a wheel.

Going off road without skids is like having unprotected sex on a first date

I agree with ya, Tom, but have you ever been to Rausch before? Heard the easy trails are...easy. Just what I've heard.

I hit some metal on the interstate ( tow lanes of traffic couldn't avoid it ) back years ago and took out the tranny pan on my 70 Bronco
Doesn't matter where you are

I gotta scavenge for some money for skids. Classes are about to start and I'm sure I'll be spending 3-500 on books.

Amen to that. Saving up for them and hoping to have enough cash by sometime this winter to get my set.

Definitely won't be making any of this possible dates but starting in May I should be tri-state full time once again

The easy trails were not super easy in my mind. We ended up on some pretty steep terrain. I think the biggest issue there are rocks. Almost all the trails possed several challenging rock obstacles and for a bone stock liberty it was a bit rough. The coal mine tour was guided so that helped! Overall they were not bad and I did not damage my vehicle at all, with the exception for a lot of little scratches from brush. I am really excited to see us get this together, I have not been back up since I lifted my jeep, added the tires and skids.
