Went upstate hunting this weekend. Took the truck with me and it did great for heading up to the Catskills and in all the mud, especially with 3 people and luggage+deer.

Oh and needs more lights...

did the DIY crossbars today. Used 3/4" steel pipe, the truck bed rustoleum, and round u-bolts instead of square :? but it works. so far, very happy with the results and ending up using corks from wine bottles as end caps for the time being until i can find something else more permanent. :ROTFL: May try using the rustoleum spray and see if it coats the cork enough and then make the final touch ups on the scratches

Nice job. Now, maybe some acorn nuts tipped in plasti-dip to prevent scratching whatever you are gonna put up there. I like the cork to keep the moisture out. I was wondering if they make those rubber chair feet caps in a size to protect the ends of your roof bars.

Well done!

Happy :JEEPIN:

yea i think more than anything i just rushed it and the paint hadn't completely dried before i started messing with it. Definitely tricky to find the end caps although i saw that the end caps for walking canes would work if you found them in the right size. but 3/4" is perfect for corks. Hah

Well I went and Got the Foam to do the Sky Slider fix.

I added the foam and trimmed it to look as facotry as possible.
It is black and blends in very well.

Now to hope the wife never notices it and the the wind noise will be fixed.

We find out both at 5am Thursday morning. When we take a 371 mile trip to family and DisneyLand.

If you are at D-land on 11/25/2011 PM me...

finally got some pics of the new lift and tires! it was getting dark, so i had to take them in the parking lot as i was leaving work:

BEFORE:
Image

AFTER:
Image

Image

Lift:
Front - OME NS131 + OME2927
Rear - OME N132L + OME2731

If you think the rear shock looks funny in the pic of the tire, its b/c i painted the shocks (i would hate to be mistaken for a michigan fan :5SHOTS: )

Hockeypuck bump stops in rear (2 per side), attached with a carriage bolt (would use a hex bolt next time)
Terraflex bumpstops up front

The tires are 255/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers (31.06" x 10.16", 13.1/32" tread depth) + 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers

I had a good amount of rubbing on the pinch weld and rubbing on the plastic on the front side of the wheel well. pounding the pinch weld solved my backside rubbing issues, and reforming the wheel well liner with a heat gun solved the rubbing issues on the forward side while moving forward, but i still get a little rubbing while turning in reverse. might take a dremel to it this weekend.

i did a terrible job trying to reseal the wheel well liner by melting strips of plastic and "welding" it back together. I just ended up folding the flaps back and painting everything with some primer and some rustoleum hammered black. i think im gunna rhino line it this weekend.

so far it drives nice. feels a lot higher (didn't measure). there are pros and cons vs. stock, but this is my first day of driving it sort of normal, as i was driving paranoid the last couple days with the rubbing issues. the tires are silent and very comfy. steering feels kind of soft. not sure if thats the right word, but it is definitely different than stock. veers a little left as well. seemed better before the alignment. the guy said everything was good, but the Toe was way off.

Two of them at my job. (Including mine)

The other is a rather boring stock Sport... no mods... no options... nothing. Then there's mine.

I've only seen two on the roads since I bought mine. That was back in Feb of 2010, lol.

Sagerist... just got mine aligned today. Steering wheel still needs to be slightly to the right, but it is right where it was when it was new.

Mine was exactly the same way out of the dealership. Kinda of frustrating as I always have to keep it slightly right as the wheel wants to center then the kk drives left...

I'm pretty sure she doesn't even realize that mine is modded.
...or is higher than hers.
... or has larger tires.
... or has gray fender flares. She probably thinks hers looks the same as mine.

Yeah, one of those types. I parked near her one day and she went directly towards my Jeep when we got off work. All of the guys notice though. And miraculously, one of my female cousins. "I'm gonna need a stepladder to get in here if you lift it any higher."

Now the question. How do you turn off the traction control, completely? I push the switch and it goes off but every time the tires beak loose you hear that terrible noise.

sent from my Sprint evil EVO.
