Well my Jeep has been at the dealer most of the day. Took my list in with me, plus they were fixing the seat frame assembly that came in. Dropped it off at 7:30 this morning and haven't heard from them yet. They had 6 other things to look at besides the seat frame, so we'll see how well they do! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this visit will take care of everything, and that my problems are all covered under warranty (which it better be and should be!)
I'll let you all know how everything went.
Thanks for everyone's input while I was ranting on about all of it

When I brought mine in with a list of things to address, I told them to keep it overnight and they put me in a free rental. Was nice to know they weren't rushing to get it out the door at 5pm...

Did you get all of your problems worked out with the dealer when you took it in?? Were they major or minor things??

Minor stuff and with one dealer, everything was good... this other dealer by my office (where I bought it) is 100% staffed with jabronies...

I have a personal mechanic that has done work on my previous cars, and I really trust him. Unfortunatly need the warranty work done at the dealer, so I have to trust they'll do what needs to be done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my beloved Jeep will be okay.......I've wanted a Jeep for so long, and finally able to buy a new one that I really like with the things on it I like to have. 8)

I have another not happy story. My wife called me yesterday to tell me her 08 Liberty would not start. She turned the key and nothing happened. It had to be towed, plus they didnt have the part.I had to get a rental, and hopefully it will be ready Monday. What makes me mad is in Aug. I told them I had this problem and was told I had to wait until it broke down.Plus my right side door panel is warped, and they installed another one and that was warped. This is what I call poor quality.

Now I have 4 things Jeep needs to take a look at on my 2008 with only 3400 miles on it:
1. Jeep had to order a seat frame for the passenger seat because it was rattling so badly. When they took a look at it they said it couldn't be repaired, thus a new seat frame.
2. Steering wheel makes the subtle tick/click sound when turning it left or right.
3. High pitched rhythmic/squeaking sound which seems to be coming from the front (?) when I pull up to a stop. Heard it the other day very plainly when I pulled up to the bank window. Easy to hear when there is a wall of some sort ...perhaps echoing off of it?
4. Still feel the rubbing sensation to the wheels (?) when making left or right turns. Another Jeep place, different from the one I'm taking it to now, checked it out and said there wasn't anything wrong with it. Somehow I don't think that's the right answer.

So, for now, I'm not real happy with my choice I made when I bought it. Have never had this many problems with a new car before.

***I am responding to your #3 issue. We have experienced this from about 3000 miles. After 4 trips to our dealer, we believe they finally found it. It was a front hub and bearing assembly on the left hand side. It had a "catch" in it when turning/rolling causing the high pitch wine. So you might want to "TELL/ASK" your dealer to look at this on yours. Our sound happened when rolling and really echoed off my wifes parking garage walls, up the drive between houses etc. If coming to a complete stop it would stop...if she started moving it started making the noise. So far,so good. We are skeptic but we are hoping that is fixed.

Otherwise we are still enjoying the ride. She had a JK and several TJ's prior to this Liberty and she likes her Liberty.

And now..... :x 5. Brakes squeal when I come to a stop. Never has done it before now.
6. When it rains I get a leak down the center of the back window on the inside. Haven't even taken it through a car wash yet, but I've heard
that the skyslider roof leaks and corporate says it's not meant to be taken thru hi-pressure car washes...  I've always
had cars with sunroofs and gone through car washes with NEVER a leaking problem. Sounds like a design issue that they are not willing
admit or address
My passenger side seat frame assembly came in and I will be having that replaced next Friday. I'm quite unhappy right now with all these things going on with it, and I hope this is not an omen of things to come. I'm starting to question my purchase of this car.

I agree with you.I have had several problems with my 08 Liberty and told the dealer that Chrysler vehicles are getting worse.I'm not happy either, but you seem to have more problems then what you should have.I heard there are problems with the skyslider, and Chrysler is lost what to do.There is a TSB for your leaking rear hatch so that should get fixed.Good Luck and I hope you can get all your problems fixed.

Thanks... :| I'm hoping I can get all these things fixed and I can go on with my life with the car. I'm not wanting to take the car in every month or so for minor "problems". If it continues I'll simply bite the bullet (be upside down in trade equity), and buy something that is built alot better. The seal around the skyslider seems to be the pits. And Chrysler doesn't want to deal with it! Really good PR :? :? What kind of problems have you had with yours????

The first day I bought my KK,the right front door lock didn't work.I took it on the highway and the Liberty was shaking bad.The tires were balanced about 5 times. Then the dealer told me the tires were not round.I had to replace all 4 tires.I had the TSB done for the A/C.The right front door panel was warped, still waiting for the part to come in.My alignment was off,it took about 4 complaints before they did the alignment.Right front passenger seat had padding missing,so they had to take the seat to get repaired.Poor quality all around.I had a 03 Mazda Tribute before this Liberty, and didn't have to go one time for repairs in the 5 years I had it.I have my fingers crossed for no more problems.

**repsonding to your back window......we had our seal replaced. Fixed the issue.

Got my Jeep back last week.....so here's the update:
1. Passenger seat frame assembly replaced, but they need to fix the dark gray panel on the bottom outside of the seat. Just pulls away from the seat really easily.
2. Clicking steering wheel when you turn it right of left......"Could not duplicate sound" .
3. Brakes high pitched squeal when coming to a stop...mostly all the time..."Normal to hear this".
4. Rhythmic sound when pulling up to a stop from front wheels, especially when wall is left of car and echoes off of it...."Could not duplicate sound".
5. Leak down center of back window inside...."Could not duplicate problem".
6. Rubbing sensation to front end when turning left or right...."Could not duplicate".

So...the only thing they did do was replace the seat frame, and now the airbag light goes off all the time, so I have to take it back for that. Then I told them there is a recall out regarding the leak in the back window., and I want that fixed. Well the service manager looked it up on the Chrysler site and sure enough there it was. He said he "missed that one" So they have ordered a sealant that was recommended for that and I have to wait 10 days for that to be in. Told him I was not happy with the other problems I came in with, and he told me when I come in for the sealant fix they'll have a service guy ride with me so I can point out the other things. I have no faith whatsoever in car dealerships anyways. Never have and never will. I have my faithful mechanic I've always gone to, and he's truthful and fair.
So far, my purchase of this new Jeep has left me with an unsettled feeling about keeping it. I don't know.........

I'm feeling your pain.I just got my 08 Liberty back yesterday after a no start. The part was not in stock,so that cost Chrysler a tow job and 5 days of rental because the part was not in stock.Plus like you it was something that I complained about, but was told It had to break down before they could replace the part. Then when they asked to try my spare key to start the Liberty,it didn't work,so another trip back to program my spare key.I hate to tell Chrysler that this is not a way to run a business.Your best bet is to have the tech ride with you

You bet I'll have the tech ride with me. My concern is, is this going to continue....with problems all along the way  Like you probably, I can't spend my time taking the Jeep into the dealer all the time. Of all the cars I've ever owned this is the first one with so many things wrong with it.

Thanks for responding about one of my problems.......I will mention this to them when the tech rides with me. Seems like a lot of little problems with a brand new car!!

Is there another dealer in the area you can take it to? Around me, there is one who acts exactly as you've described, and another that doesn't.

Well, tell me who you go to!!!!! I've had it to the Rohrman dealer. I bought the car in Avon at the Danville Jeep dealer, but that's about an hour away from me to go, whereas Rohrman is close for me. Like I said....I hate dealerships, but when it's warranty work, have to go to a dealer. Thanks :)

Andy at Phil Long Chrystler/Jeep on Wadsworth and something or other - I forget the cross street... south of 285. Just west of Denver.

Are you in the Denver area?

Edit: I just found out that Andy doesn't work there any more... bummer... spoke with someone else - don't know how it'll work out yet.
