What I did was use a 1/2" washer and reamed it out a little.
I only went that way because a thick 1/2" washer was easier/cheaper to find at Lowe's.

You need a washer that will fit a M12 bolt

Thanks Digger, I bought them today but when I was about to start I decided to check on the sway bar and the noise was actually coming from there. The left joint that it has is the one making the loud noise so my new plan is to remove it.

Do I still need to lift the rear to remove it or will I be able to remove it completely with the 4 tires at the ground?

Scar0 - those were the ones I bought, I went ahead and bought around 10 be cause they were so cheap. Thanks for your help!

if you have a hitch, it's not a bad idea to use a jack and lift the KK from there. It usually makes dis-assembly & reassembly easier if the KK is raised just a pinch...

I just have a regular jack I don't know if that will make it to lift it from the hitch, will it? I don´t want to get hit by the sway bar if I don't lift it enough :?

I just reread it... I thought you were talking about the track bar :banghead: :banghead:

No need to jack the KK up for the sway bar :P

I worked on it and was able to add a couple of washers to the shock on the passenger's side but to the one on the driver's side I only added one washer to the top and the bottom of the shock and it's still making the noise. It was reduced in like 50% but I still can hear it and it keeps bothering me even with my music on. I just know the sound is there and I can't ignore it. I will have to make some spare time next weekend and add one more washer to the shock, if it doesn't get fixed I don't know what else could it be... :banghead:

I've had the same type of sounds haunting my dreams since I installed my lift. Took it to my mechanic and he couldn't find anything either. He did however suggest that it may be the bumper cover banging around now that the suspension is much stiffer than stock...

Do you still have that noise? I have removed the sway bar and the noise was also reduced, added the washers and it reduced a bit more and I also removed an aluminium cover that was in the back of the spare tire because it was a little loose and it didn't fix anything! :furious: I will try next weekend to add a couple more washers and see if it gets fixed. If not I think I will have to live with it :(

My garage has been too slushy for me to go crawling around under the Jeep so I haven't had time to check if it was the bumper cover. I've tried nearly everything. Removed the spare tire, removed the rear cargo lid, added washers to the shocks...

So this is really a noise from hell :grim:. I will try to change the shocks back to the factory ones just for a trial run to see if the noise disappears. I don't want to get to the point of taking apart the entire rear of the kk just to find out none of the parts were making the noise... I will need an amplifier and subwoofer to make the noise go away

having the same noise myself now... guess I get to go digging around to see what I can find. Pretty sure the track bar and shocks are good. They wont budge from me pushing the crap out of em and there seems to be no space ... that leaves what, drive shaft and springs???
