Looks good ELT. I'm finally starting mine, test fitted the lights today on the bar. I have to put a few spacers in order to make the lights not point up because they are contacting the bar, no biggie. Also i'm not going to put a screw into the plastic, i'm going to drill a hole in the metal about 6 inches below and use a rather large bolt to hold them in place. :)

So I've been following this thread for a while cuz I'm definitely planning on adding some fogs to my bumper. The one thing holding me back is that I wanna keep the "Blacked out" look goin, so I've been hesitant to purchase any lights. I've always been a fan of Hellas and I plan on put 4 Hella 550s(The rectangular ones) on the roof. I noticed Hella makes a new series of driving light called the "Black Magic"... pretty awesome looking lights, but since I'm going with driving lights up top, it doesn't solve my foggie problem. I did a bit of digging, and even though the part number is hard to find, you can actually order the black magic black rock shields... I also checked the dimensions and it seems the black magics are the exact size as the 500s.

Thennn I came across these Color Shieldz, which are just a thin laminate that you stick over the light. These laminates come in a "smoke" variety. So now that I've found what seem to be two pretty viable options, I think I'm gonna order my Hella fogs this week. I'll probly end up buying both covers just so I can play around and see which ones look the best, but anyone have a preference?

There some cheepo bulbs i bought on ebay that are made by Cycolite or something similar to that. They looked blue when turned off but white when turned on

Ya when you cut the lightbar it fits snug against the grill. So basically, if you want to use all 4 screws you need to pull the bumper because the grill wont go back on with the bar bolted on. I just used the 2 front screws for the bumper and it actually is holding quite nicely. If needed ill pull the bumper and bolt down all 4.

Yea i'm going to use 4 screws *just going to put a piece of metal underneath so the bumper doesn't rip*. I noticed after i test fitted it, all i need to do is put a slight diagonal cut and i should be able to slide the grill on with the lightbar in place.

How close did you put the lights to the grill? did you cut the bar so that it would slide inbetween the bumper and grill?

here is a top view and side view. I cut the bar to allow it to slide under the grill slightly.

Thats about how close mine is, but i only cut the bar enough so that its flush against the grill.

yea...mine is pushed out probably 1/2 more than yours is by looking at your pictures. i did it this way for the easy of getting the grill off. Now i'm trying to decide if i want to paint my grill black or line-x it. hmmmm, decisions.
