Tom, what works for one person may not be what the 'other' person wants. It's not the "kit" that's the problem you seem to have with RRO but a hair up your rear about the place and after talking to someone who sounded like they just got out of bed or had better things to do, I can understand your feelings. I can't buy OME kits from one half dozen other places. I can get a military discount from one place but not another. It all came down to the general attitude and sound of the persons voice that sold me. I ended up getting the kit I wanted from jeepsbyal. 4 shocks and 4 springs and A arms. Parts are already in-route. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the fact they were coming in separate shipments. I was told this up front but as long as I got them within a week (not the 3 from RRO) I would be fine. Cost was about the same except RRO didn't offer rear springs for some reason. So, I've ordered my 3inch lift, came in just over 1100.00 plus shipping. Once I have all the parts in hand, I'll make the appointment. The jeep will be in the shop for a bit. Still got the front right corner to fix from the 20lb Canadian goose who wanted a closer look of my rig. :frankie:

So yes tom, we read. Some of us even take the advice of others :shock: However, as one who has no plans to make the meca trip to MOAB, the 1100.00 I'm spending from JBA (who is just reselling OME hardware) will suit me just find for the snow, mud and ruts I encounter around my Michigan landscape. :BANANA:
So, thanks to all the feedback, PM's and experiences everyone has posted here. This is the LAST major expense I plan on putting on my jeep (well, there may be a set of 17inch wheels next go around when I need some new rubber). :JEEPIN:

I'll post some pic's before and after when it's done.. :wink:

You need to calm down some and step back and read
No where did I say anything about buying a more expensive kit
Look what I run ....OME springs etc
And as far as Marlin reselling OME, WTH do you think every shop does? Everyone resells even your local grocery store.
I just don't get when people waste money on a Daystar etc and then say well thats all I can afford now, I'll do it right in 3 or 4 months :shock: Ya don't have to lift today or die. Do it right the first time .
Carry on

Tom, I did read. That seems to be an issue around here, lots of stuff to read and lots of GOOD input/output to weed through :shock: . And asking the same questions more than once is SOP for forums and whats the point of attacking the posters for doing so? Ya think that sometimes the poster doesn't really know how or what really to ask? I spent 4 years as a mod on a military members website and I wish I had a dollar for every question that was asked a dozen times and answered 2 dozen times (differently) :roll: . However, all due respect, I'm not the one who needs to step back and calm down. I didn't get my drawers in a bunch because people weren't taking my advice for face value or asking/telling the same thing. You may not have said anything about a more expensive kit but you sure seem to be beating the drum loudly about wasting money on a cheap one. :wink: In the end, I've made my decision and got my OME kit from JBA. Not Quadratec (1.00 cheaper and half the shipping cost) or Boulderbars. I did make sure that when I ordered my hardware, I mentioned they come highly recommended on LOSTKJS. That that should account for some latitude so you can do or say what you feel appropiate. I came, got the info I needed and will move on. :dizzy:

oktane17, After many hours of doing research on lifts, on this forum and many others. What I found out was a DayStar lift really is not the route to go.
Here are the main reasons;
Reuses stock springs, compresses front springs and reduces the life of them, harsh ride because of the compressed front springs, because of the preload on the front springs the front shock will also fail much sooner because of lack of travel ability, causes excessive wear on the upper A-arm ball joint causing premature failure, during articulation the mounting point of the upper strut plate is stressed "in-out" and will eventually cause the sheet metal to crack and break in that area, the stock A-arm will make contact with the strut assembly during articulation causing the above to happen even sooner, If you do the install yourself compressing the springs the wrong way can be VERY dangerous (if not deadly), you still have to replace the rear shocks because the stock are not long enough to handle the travel of the lift height.
Now the Pros of a DayStar;
Least expensive way to get a lift look, rear is a fairly easy install.

With that being said...
I have a KA(I know it is a bad word here :lol: ), but it uses the same lift as the KK.
I chose to do the JBA 2.5, upper A-arms, and rear shocks,
Being the Prototype for the KA, did cause a few issues at first. But I will say the customer support from Marlin is top-notch! Every issue and concern was addressed.
I have since upgraded to the Adjust-A-Strut front end ,because of what I mentioned before about the upper strut mounting point stress [the Adjust-A-Strut has a pivot at the top(right side of Pic)]

, and I must say the ride is much better then the original front lift I had.
Here was my ride stock,

Here with the 2.5 Adjust-A-Strut. Like Cherrie 274, I also like a slight forward rake.
