I started to tear out the dash to replace a leaking heater core.

Installed a set of bumpers on a customer's KK. Cool color, never seen that orange in person.
Got dark by the time we were done so this is the only pic.

Can't wait for mine!
AtTheHelm, what do you suggest for paint? I was going to do what I did for my sliders, just use spay self etching primer and black hammered spray paint. Then have it line-x'ed in a few months when I get the money. What do you do?

The lights look good jjohnson! I need to get me some someday. Night wheeling with stock headlights sucks! :banghead:

I'm workin on yours post haste!
I've been using Krylon satin black, I do like it. The set I just did was with those big industrial rustoleum cans in flat black and rusto cold galvanizing grey instead of primer. They came out real nice.

I just redid my rack with the rusto hammered black which I really liked. I may repaint my bumpers with it next summer. I'd say just coat them with whatever you like and is readily available for touch ups. The key is to really clean the steel with laquer thinner or acetone using an uncontaminated LINT FREE rag. An old t shirt works well or microfiber towel. Also paint when its over 50*f.

Considering running all 4 up front, since I have the extra light switch and the extra lights. Not sure if this is a keeper just yet. I do like the idea of running some down low and aiming them low, since when I night wheeled (literally half the time these past few months), I can barely see the terrain immediately in front of my KK.

I completely agree with looking for a way to get lights down low. It'd be nice to have fogs or floods down low, letting me aim the spots up a bit higher. Idk if I like the 2 KCs down low though. I was thinking about a small led bar. Like a 10" or something. Just a matter of how to do it. Might go outside tomorrow and try to come up with ideas. Hell maybe I could see if AtTheHelm's recovery setup would work.

No need to rush. I'm just excited  I just love getting stuff for my Jeep. Though myb wife will never understand.
I've noticed that the hammered black works very well for the sliders. They get very beaten up and scratched and touch up can't be easier. I'm glad I live down south, as most days are above 50*.

The trick is to buy something for the house or for her at the same time.

:ROTFL: ^^ that's what I do if it's an expensive mod :ROTFL:
I think she likes it too though, she usually pushes me a little when we're wheeling saying "Isn't that what you got it for?"

That's what I had to do for the bumper.

my wife thinks I'm crazy taking it off road. She hates the Jeep. When she met me I coukd care less about vehicles. Then I bought this and thejeep bug bit me. Now I try to spend all of my extra money on it. She keeps me in check. If I ever roll it. I'm dead :grim: . I fear her more than any actual danger to life.

I'll swing ya a good deal on 2 KC's if you would like  Don't know if the bottom two will stay on (since I was just test fitting before the rain)

I would definitely prefer to buy two small LED's (2x2 or 3x3). I'm not crazy about how the bottom lights looked so they're in the trunk. They also stick out about an inch or so, which isn't good since I like to ease 'n' tap when on trails and going into parking decks

Being 20, my mom is the one that gives the problems. Sad thing is, it isn't even her money or truck. She "just hates to see money wasted like that on a perfectly good car". You should have seen the arguments this house went through when I put the lift in lol. My girlfriend completely understands and doesn't complain as long as I keep taking care of her 8)

I finally got a chance to test my new lift/tires. I'm loving the new approach angle and flex. I would have gone higher, but I didn't have a spotter. :JEEPIN:

Lucky You... I hope you already placed your order.. I tried to get a set and now he isn't making them anymore, just my luck.

I had been trying to get a set for a while now, but between Christmas gifts and having to negotiate with the wife about buying stuff for the Jeep. I missed out :(

Well I guess I'll be spending my Christmas $$ fixing my Liberty. This morning on the way to work, it decided that another misfire was in order. I limped the KK to the dealer and I'm waiting their response. I have a warranty, but hopefully that will cover some of the damage to my wallet.

I can still make the side rails as I still have the jig for those. There wasn't much interest for the entire bolt together rack so I'm not doing those anymore. In the future I might come out with a redesigned one that still either bolts together (different from before) or a kit that you can take to a shop where they fully weld it so its one piece.
