Does she handle well on the sand?

GREAT. specially on the dry season we have really loose sand, never had a issue with sand even with mud terrains.
most of the times i go in 4h. with disabled traction control (neutral and press tc button for 5 seconds)
for water crossing a 4l is a must.

Holding it for 5 seconds will effect the traction control differently than just pressing it?
Good to know it handles well on the sand. I'm sure mine will hit the beach one day. Not many in Jersey you can drive on.

Gage, how far are you from Long Island? If you're not too far it might not hurt for you to get a pass and hang on the beach with us. I know out of state is more money though...

Probably pretty far. Island Beach State Park (IBSP) is the only place I know of in Jersey. There might be one more I'm not familiar with. I remember as a young boy going out on there in my Dad's GMC Jimmy and it's just a different experience. Catching fish while out there is also a plus.
On that same note, Jeff aka Poncherello, has told me some horror stories about some seals leaking that he's had replaced at least twice that I think the dealer said the beach was the main route of the problem. Being lifted I'm sure would make those chances less likely, but know that would cause me to be cautious the whole time as I imagine you would be anyways...

The ol' lady gave ya a ride or a friend?
That reminds me I should let my girlfriend drive it again since it's lifted.
The only thing is that she drives me nuts with her brakes. You hardly ever need the brakes when driving a KK.

He used to make trips out by me. His girlfriend is from the island lol. I'm a solid 40-60min drive from NYC. If there's no traffic and I push I can be in within 30min. So add that to you NYC distance lol I think his problem is just a random thing. Dealer probably didn't want to fix it and tried blaming it on the beach.

We get a few guys from PA that come out and hang out with us on the beach. They're a hike from here. Just hit a car wash before you leave to get any salt water and sand off. The. When you get home you can give it the detail job lol

Yup she works down the street from me and we ride together everyday. She did great for only driving it once before and the fact she knows how obsessive I am.

I've let two people drive mine. My bestfriend and my girlfriend. Both drove way too slow. It's a heavy vehicle that I think most aren't used to driving. You actually have to put your foot down to get up to speed and stay there.

My list sits at my Dad, my Mom and my girlfriend. Dad drives it like me, Mom's super cautious, and my girlfriend won't beat on it...but she can handle it. She thought she was a good driver until it spun on her in the snow..."I didn't think it'd spin that quick..." lmao

The only time I don't drive is when I go out drinking and make the GF the DD. Like I've said before....we ALWAYS use the gas guzzler lmao

Before I had to let my wife drive I wouldn't let her. If it came to me not having any drinks cause I drove. That's what I had to do lol. My wife isn't a bad driver by any means but her car is tiny. She also doesn't care as much about hers.

My girlfriend is no dummy, but I want her to be familiar with it in the case that I have one too many drinks. She couldn't be paid to drive in the snow, not with her Civic at least.
Oh I forgot I let my dad drive it once too when we were chasing down the wheel bearing issue. He drove it great, but we went to wawa for a coffee and he tried to let it idle in the parking spot. You KNOW I took the keys out of the ignition REEEAL quick. Not on my watch.

My girlfriend handled it like a pro. TCS on and driving normal there were no problems. It came when I turned it off and told her to give it gas mid turn. I wanted her to see and feel a spin. I'm ok with letting them get familiar with my vehicles. God forbid there's an emergency or just something as stupid as me having a few too many drinks, I know with peace of mind she can handle the truck.

I'm gonna have to teach her stick one of these days too. Luckily none of us have a manual car yet lol

I've never driven a manual. The closest has been my Patriot where I could shift on my own.

I rescheduled my lift install for Friday. Too sick today to get it done.

Stick isn't too hard. Starting off is the hardest part.

What did you catch? Feel better.

Thanks feeling like a hangover now. It's a stomach bug I guess. My daughter had it last Tuesday. Then I got it yesterday.
