I have, the only code that came up was for my malfunctioning passenger door switch. You may want to pull the plastic around the steering column & see if the part number on the immobilizer is affected by the TSB indicated earlier in this thread. It's wasn't the case for me but it may be helpful for you.

I called cross jeep and had the Vin checked for recalls and none were active but I will still check

Yeah TSBs or technical service bulletins are not the same as recalls. TSBs are more information put out about common issues and how to fix them and usually they claim don't pose a safety concern like recalls. The repairs in a TSB are not done free of cost like recalls are.

$5 says that code was P0513. I've had that code for years now.

Well we got a warm weather streak and the problem is rearing its ugly head again. It's definitely a issue with winter blend gas & warmer weather as it never happened in the summer. I'm sure some octane boost in the tank would solve it but that can get expensive sooo I went a little drastic. Every fuel line under the hood all the way where it goes to the factory heat shield on the frame rail, got covered in heat shield. I also went bananas and wrapped both fuel rails & connecting pipe as well. Hopefully this $20 fix stops it from happening again in the future. Fingers crossed. :banghead:

Well insulating the lines didn't work, neither did the octane booster. I guess I'll fill her up with premium and see if that has any effect. Anyone know of any sensors that could be getting heat soaked that I should look at? Cam and crank sensors are newish.

When I had a recurring heat soak issue on my XJ, I tried all the same things you did. Wrapping the fuel rail and injectors helped a little bit, and getting higher octane gas helped too (but it was expensive over the long run). I ran Lucas Fuel Treatment in the gas and that might have helped a little too. But all in all, it was frustrating. Had to open the hood to let out the heat before I could restart it when hot. Engine even developed pinging under load without the expensive gas...

Changed the spark plugs eventually because it was time... Bam! No more hot start or pinging issues! They had gotten fouled with deposits from all of the fuel cleaners I was using, which changed the compression dynamics, I think. Either way, new copper plugs fully cured the issue.

Hope it is as simple as that. (worth a try even if you don't have 30K on your current plugs yet)

That's an idea worth trying, I think I may be due anyways. Thanks for the suggestion.

I had this issue for a while as well, and since replacing my coil packs, seperate issue, the problem hasn't come up since

Copper plugs? What brand and type cause I'm going to do my tune up soon. Mine did it twice last weekend. I've also noticed my gas pours out when pumping. Anyone else have that and can that be correlated

What Scar0 said /\/\/\/\/\

New plugs are in but the weather is getting cool again so I doubt I'll be able to see if that fixed the issue.

Nope sure doesn't & I doubt it ever will as I just added the heavy duty cooling mechanical fan from the tow package.

Well it hasn't come back even when ideal conditions exist. Unfortunately I didn't follow the scientific method as I also did a coolant flush & added a mechanical cooling fan. Hard to say for sure what caused the problem to disappear but I know we're still on the winter blend gas here. :banghead:
