Not a KK, but I thought I would share an updated shot of my KA.

Bumper finished, also finished skid plate for the front (not pictured yet). Working on finishing off the inner fenders. I run a small holster business so I am using sheets of kydex to finish this out. Also plan to remove the side plastic to see how it looks and fab up some rock guards.

Also went through the rack again and added some previsions to make it easier to haul a pair of kayaks and camping gear on the rack.

Ok so I did some searching on that bumper. The company says it fits JK but shows it mounted on a KA. He mentioned in a Twitter or instagram post that he had to cut off the winch plate to make it fit so that's a little concerning. Here's the kicker...$415 shipped for a winch bumper. At that price I'll make it fit. I'm going to try to contact that company to try to get a picture of the back side of the bumper. Here's the link
http://www.customwheeloffset.com/custom ... -jk-bumper

All that is true was talking to him about that for an hour the other day

Nice, did you get it from the dealer? I'm planning on purchasing it myself once some nicer weather comes!

As in the orange side marker lights in the bumper? Easy, toss them & use 2 in recessed trailer lights spliced into harness.

Had a friend over to help me install my Bilsteins 5125 to replace my skyjacker hydros. :D
I must say, I really like the ride better.
I did have to re-use the spacers from the skyjackers as the ones
that came with the Bilsteins were a bit wider.

I too was very pleased at the difference between the skyjackers to Bilsteins. I think you're supposed to mount those boot/rod side down though. I also removed the boots on mine, seems they do more harm than good by trapping dirt, mud water etc in there.

I don't think it matters on these Bilsteins. My 5100s are mounted boot/rod up.

Thanks Morgan, BMXer
I did find this info,(from allshocks) but I could prob contact Bilstein just to be sure :)

Do I mount the shocks with the boot pointing up or down?

"With the internal design of the Bilstein monotube gas shocks, it does not matter whether the shocks are mounted with the shock rod side up or down. There are some minor advantages in longevity and overall suspension effectiveness with the shock rod pointed down, and there are many instances where Bilstein has changed the orientation to take advantage of these minor improvements where there are no clearance problems. If there is an option, we recommend mounting the shock with the shock rod and boot pointing down, but in the grand scheme of things, there is no noticeable difference."

Old school but, if up remove boot traps moisture and dirt.

No, the blinkers. Not the side markers. They attach to the stock bumper

Awe you're right, good point. I guess I could trim the stock bumper to act as a mount & filler or just fab up a quick plate steel mount/filler plate. While the latter option may prove more appealing so the stock bumper can be reinstalled if I have to go back to stock. Honest answer is I'm not 100% sure but it's part of the fun of modifying.
