(Yes, it's after difference calculations.)

Only 12 ??? How much do those tires weigh ? Sure am glad I never bought a KK. Sorry but man they really like to suck more gas

How is acceleration, overall driveability, hows it do on hills etc?

Yes...66lbs each...it always amazes me how much better gas mileage KJs get over KKs.

Acceleration I'm getting used to, the trans shifts sooner than I'm used to (before it'd shift to 3rd going 30-35mph...now it does it at 25mph). It takes a lot longer to break cruise speed and drop back to 4th. Overall though, it feels like an in between from 225/75 tires to 265/70 as far as power and hills and such and such.

made a taller bracket. the cable was hitting the door limiting the door from fully opening.
Image

here's the fan on the intake. I was supposed to hook it up Saturday, but I didn't have the parts for it.
Image

heres the intake for the fan. the fan should be getting 1/4 of its air from the radiator area. for it to get all of the air from that area I would have to hack into some structure in the front. for this pipe. only plastic supports were cut and reinforced else where.

Does anyone kno if it is illegal to drive around with a trailer hitch or recovery shackle like this Image when not towing anything? I got rear ended today and my d-ring punched a hole in the tailgaters bumper but no damage to mine at all haha. He didn't want to call the cops clearly and since I wasn't sure about this I agreed and he went on his way with a messed up bumper.

There is an air pressure thread around here somewhere....
Anyways, I run mine at 35.
50 would be like driving around on wheels made from marble. That is to the point of over inflation I think.

I backed my air pressure down this weekend to 46 psi. my firestones are basically flat if their in the 30 psi range. the outside edges of the tire wear faster. plus I don't mind riding high psi. as long as the pressure doesn't raise or lower over 5 psi, im fine.

going 75 mph with 50 psi in the tires was rough indeed, but the pressure rose no more then 2 psi for a 340 mile trip on 81 south.

im taking the pressure down 2 psi every weekend till it hits 40 psi. the tires are rated 80 psi. the tpms really doesn't like the pressure once it goes over 38 psi. im not going to spend any money on getting them recalibrated.

I leave mine in a lot. I can't see why it's illegal. If it is, then those people leaving the ball in for trailers is illegal.

This program shows the status of a 42RLE transmission. After a few test drives it seems to work well.
I have uploaded a video to YouTube which is showing such a test drive.
The program runs on a laptop with bluetooth and is using an ELM327 bluetooth adapter.
YouTube link: http://youtu.be/8ZrLmeXtnvs
If you have an ELM327 bluetooth adapter you can also download a test version of my program from here.

I obviously take no credit for this, but found it for you kj owners. when I get the chance to test it, ill let you KK owners know. seems like an interesting program.

Good Job!!!

It looks like the cb antenna is really shaky. Maybe upgrade to a stiffer spring by firestick. I have their very stiff spring and it does very well off road and on highway. Not sure how far the cb antenna gets pulled back on highway?

This was the heavy duty spring...after 55mph it's about even with the a pillar.

NAM: How does overdrive feel? What speed does it engage at?
Does it kickdown immediately when you hit a very small hill or does it give more power in overdrive and stay in gear?

Overdrive feels much stronger. Following the trend of every other gear, about 50mph (whereas it was 55 on flatland with the engine lugging to keep up). It barely notices the small hills honestly. After about 3-5mph loss it'll go back to 4th and taek about 4 seconds to shift back to OD (if back on flatland). Regearing was definitely something I should have done sooner than now hahaha. I just can't wait for this 500mi break-in period so I can actually test the gears haha.

I started it for the first time since Friday. Temperatures were only in the single digits for highs and lows with the windchill dropped into the -20 to -30 range. This morning it was -13 air temp and she didn't seem to happy to start. In fact, she almost didn't. It cranked hard for a second, then started ticking like the battery was dead, and then cranked hard for a few seconds longer. It eventually fired up but the motor was loud and clunky. Also took a while to shift into 2nd. But all is well!

I got a new windshield today. I noticed a very tiny chip/crack in my windshield Saturday morning while driving and I swear it wasn't there before. Well... 10 minutes later with the cold air outside, and the hot air inside my KK, the chip turned into a large approx 3ft crack across my windshield. :banghead:

I have 2 very large chips in my windshield that were filled so they shouldn't crack, but I can't stand the sight of them. One is directly in my line of sight. My dad's windshield crack and one of the rear windows in his truck spider cracked, too. darn winter.

Finished the roof rail installation from the rails purchased from ATH.
Install Steps..

1. Wet sand rust under factory cosmetic covers
2. Painted over sanded area
3. Applied 3m Marine Adhesive 5200 in White where roof rails will rest on roof. I recommend black for anyone doing this. The white becomes to contaminated during the 7 day curing period. Took three days to become tack free. SFLA climate.
4. Installed rails and padding.

not that im comparing my KK with yours, but welcome to the poor gas milage club. what I would do to get 13 or more miles on my KK if I had that money to do so. and obviously should get better mileage once the summer blend comes out. im 12 regardless of blend, load, weight, and air temp or quality in the city. highway is acceptable, but could be better with weight reduction.

I also installed a LED bar on my front bull bar.
I purchased this Strobes N More EFlood 9600 Xtreme Warning Light from Luis at StrobesNmore.com. It has over 9600 Lumens output and is incredibly bright. The end caps also illuminate in green or red. (plastic filters)
I don't think that the photos do any justice in terms of brightness. But these are 10watt LEds. When I was driving down the highway, I lit up at least 300 feet in front of my car. Trees were illuminated to the tops 25ft trees here in Florida.

looks good! if I remember correctly, that's 2k lumens over the legal DOT limit here in PA.

EDIT: well I was totally off. I swore I red somewhere that 7k lumens was legal, but that does seem very bright! I use my roof lights on back roads. I treat them like high beams. no wonder why its illegal to have lights over 48 inches off the ground!

and although your light bar is within legal hight limits, lumens are well over DOT cert. id stick to using the bar for back roads. much lower chance of getting caught!
