I've been looking at eventually getting a Mac mini. Maybe some day. I'm mostly on my galaxy note or phone so I don't use My laptop a lot.

I'd encourage you to get one with some upgraded specs. Mine wasn't exactly zippy from the get-go.

I have a MacBook Pro. Love it. Best thing ever for class lol.

Your Jeep is still a baby. I lifted at 28k. By that time I had a blown rear shock too. I also needed new tires and I wasn't buying stock size lol. I never took care of the stock tires and burnt through them. Never rotating and a bad alignment killed the fronts. You'd probably save close to the amount for a lift come a few more thousand miles.

I still have enough in savings to buy the lift, but I'd like to save those funds for a rainy day.

Our company is closing at 3:00 due to the snow versus the normal 4:30 closing time. Woohoo! But the highways are a disaster apparently.

I agree. Always try to make sure you have extra money when spending it in something nonessential.

Oh here you go Gage. Best I can get since my brushguard has a bar that blocks it and part of my plate lol.

Image

This is the little grill. I think it's for protection. It goes across the whole thing like this except for where the tow hooks go, which is the pic below.

Image

This is where tow hooks go. Without the hooks there, there is a solid piece that's designed to look like the rest of it. All you do is cut the tabs connecting it to the rest.

Thank you so much for the pictures! Spot on exactly what I was looking for!
Here's my question: If I got this lower grille (fascia?), my plan was to put an additional piece behind it to make it completely solid.
Would this cause some sort of overheating? (Don't laugh) If I did this, or something cheaper, I think it could boost mpg by a measurable difference.

Yes it could, coolers need air to circulate. If you want to save gas park it;).

You're probably right. A popular eco mod is to do a "grille block" to direct airflow somewhere else. Looking for ideas.

I think completely blocking it would be bad. But AtTheHelm's recovery system blocks it, so does the bar on my brushguard. Difference is air can still get around those.

Well with the AtTheHelm's recovery system, the front receiver opening is a gaping hole that allows for quite a bit of air.

I would think that with a more economical car, it wouldn't be as bad blocking the grille completely. Since we have 4WD systems, it's almost required to have some kind of airflow over the coolers... Especially if you go wheeling. Driving in deep sand without proper airflow / cooling can result in some serious problems.

Good points. Just trying to see if I can come up with a good and cheap d.i.y. mod.

Good morning everyone. Very windy this morning. Gotta stop by the autoparts store for those plastic things that hold down our grille. Also found out last night that the dime shaped vent plug on my plastic waste oil container is missing.
:banghead: I need to find something to use as a plug! Any ideas? Maybe the plastic part that holds the grille on will fit in there?
Also plan to do a little testing to figure out how much engine load causes open loop status. :CAMPING:

Went to Napa and got my push fasteners I was looking for. Did my open/closed loop test while also display engine load. My testing was done on two different roads, a 35mph and a 55mph one.
It was harder than I thought it would be to go into open loop. My foot had to be almost all the way down to achieve this. Definitely got a little air on one of those back roads I was on.

Received my AVS hood bugflector, 4 piece window visors today. Also bought myself a small hand hel vacuum that plugs into the 12v outlet at Wal-Mart for $20. Lastly picked up a few new stickers and 4 cans of black plasti dip for when Spring decides to show up! :P

Would like someone to clarify for me.. do the KJ front tow hooks work on the newer KK's? Too lazy to look sorry. Also, when ordering the tow hooks, should I get those plates that are better then the M Bolts? Thanks in advance.

Yes KJ hooks work. Many prefer them because you get 2, rather than 1 if you were to order the KK hook. And yes, get the plates. The bolts are known to pull through the frame.

KJ tow hooks fit the KK. I have m bolts others will tell you not to use them. I do and have had no problems. Mine will eventually be replaced by a front receiver. Atthehelm makes one that might be of interest to you.

Thanks Bmxer. Cherrie, I was thinking about and considered it but I dont like the idea that it blocks up the cooler where air is supposed to get it in. Also the fact that it's an extra $200 over the tow hooks. I would prefer the system over the hooks but..

Just thought I'd give another option. I hope to make my own. But until then tow hooks for me.
