Did you go through insurance or a different method?

Went thru my insurance. Pretty sure a $200 deductible is better than what it would have cost to fix out of pocket. How much does a windshield go for these days?

I had my windshield replaced back in February. I didn't go through insurance, and it cost me $325 for an OE windshield installed. 1 week later I had a rock chip in it :banghead: . I bought one of those DIY chip repair kits for $10, and you can't even tell it was there.

Didn't do anything to the KK but I did go steelhead fishing with a friend yesterday and took a lot of great photos!

Finally got my OME lift with extra 1/4" top plates and rear upper isolators installed. She's sitting 3" higher and I am loving it!

Image

Doesn't she look pretty now?

The handling is so much better now than before. Very precise and quick, it goes exactly where I tell it to go. The ride is a bit crisp, but I'm expecting that to soften a bit as the new suspension settles in over the next couple weeks.

The best part is being able to look pickup and wrangler drivers in the eye now. My old suspension was so shot it was like I was driving a car! A really soft and wallowy car.

The only thing bugging me now is how the drivers seat is kinda worn out and squished on the one side due to the old suspension leaning that way slightly. Anyone ever repaired a KK seat?

Looks great! nice to have another lifted liberty!

If you find out about the seat, let us know. I didn't realize how worn out my driver seat was until I sat in the passenger seat. It looks fine, but you can tell the springs and cushioning are sagging by sitting in it.

I am so glad I wasn't the only one that noticed it. I thought I was crazy when my girlfriend drunk bused me around (I drank, she drove). I got in the passenger seat and was like "Oh, this is higher."

Does anyone know if there is anything safety related in our seats that would stop us from swapping them out?

I think there is something in the headrest but that's because there was a recall for it

I want to say 2011+ headrests have that weird thing where they pop forward. I'm not sure if there's anything else though...

Story time.
Gave the Jeep a thorough wash on Tuesday. The next day I crawled underneath just giving her a little inspection and found grease everywhere on the passenger side cv boot.
Found a pin size hole in the boot. Took it to the shop yesterday and had the passenger cv axle replaced at 73K miles.
The Jeep drove very well during my long trip down the shore afterwards. Nice and smooth with no problems.

Looked around a bit, and I think you can get replacement seat foam, but I don't know how to remove it. I think the simplest option will be to purchase a good quality seat cover and simply layer some extra furniture foam slices underneath it to fill in the low side.

Routed my CB cable in anticipation of my new Firestik. I found an existing hole to use on the side of the fender. Here's a writeup on it: viewtopic.php?f=104&t=81999

And here's a picture:

I ordered everything for a receiver. The cooling fan parts, wiring harness, and an ATH bumper.

P.S. My wife just accepted a new job really close to me and we will be carpooling more often than not. This means the Jeep will no longer be a daily driver and will start to get a lot of love.

Gave the Jeep an oil change. Prepping for the skid plates to be installed. Hopefully I can get them on soon.

Its been a while since I've been on here, sold my 10kk a few years back. However I've returned to the Jeep again and picked up a 2010kk again, Silver, completely stock for now, only has 23,900 miles on it. Stole it for 8k  8)

No pictures but the first thing i did so far was to refinish the "Liberty" Badges on the sides, they were stained and faded. I'll get some pictures tomorrow of it.

Welcome back to the KK world!

My claim to fame today is I replaced a faulty rear brake light, and drove it 150 miles through the country on a beautiful spring day.
