What did you use to spray it down? I've heard Simple Green works well, but haven't ever tried spraying down my engine bay. Too worried about getting water in the electronics, I guess. But it does need it, now with about 4 years of dirt!

I didn't want to clean the engine bay with water at first, but I slowly woke up to the idea. I just pressure washed the hood first and used the widest nozle I had (45 degree). I do own 2 1 galon bottles of simple green, but the mud that was in there came off with out a struggle. I spent about 20 seconds in the engine bay.

I am still hesitant about water in the engine bay, but also remember, most of the stuff in there is water resistant.

Also, from my previous experiance, simple green leaves a white residue. Now, since I stated I didn't use this in the engine bay, I can not provide feedback on the visible residue.
I look forward to seeing your engine bay shimmering!

Just a suggestion based on my past experience. Make sure the engine and exhaust are cold when you wash it. And it doesn't hurt to blow the water out of the engine bay with an air hose or leaf blower. My last vehicle was destroyed because I washed the engine hot and running.

Nice mpg's, Gage. I'm leaving on a trip to New England tomorrow, so we'll see how I do. My current tank is at about 3/4 full with a bunch of city miles on it, so it won't be breaking any records. The next one will be 100% highway miles (using both 65 mph interstates and 50 mph country roads).

On those back roads, try not to let your speed drop below 50.
Been showing some good mpgs within those speeds especially when there is a small hill to go down. Bump the gas a little when the Jeep is gaining any sort of inertia in those types of situations.

Been a while since I've done and update...

Exteneded my rear diff breather tube because it kept popping off and now follows my gas fill neck up:

Also installed an engine bay light with my extra LED strip:

Got an alignment so my cross camber is fixed and my steering wheel went from this:

Got some big plans for the rear axle.

Haven't posted in years...but it's coming time to remove the sagging stock suspension @ 60k miles and get new tires since my BFG AT's have been on since the KK was new @ 500mi.

Looking at getting a full set of Cooper Grabber AT2's or Hankook ATM's in 265/75r16 for my current steelies.

Also found a set of rear Bilstein 4600 shocks on ebay for $80 shipped for both, plus Bilstein front 4600 series shocks for less than $80 each as well. Once I add the ARB/OME HD springs front and rear with the proper bump stops, it should be a nice upgrade.

Also going to do a trans fluid and filter change while it's on stands, as well as add a new ATH roof rack being delivered this weekend.

Tapatalk hasn't let me on lately.
Did 16"s and a nice tire. Cut the wheel well in the front. Image

Is that the Hankook ATM I mentioned in the previous post? Do you have any side shots?

We moved over the weekend and loaded up the KK to do it. I definitely need more of a drop for the trailer hitch for a more even load. Luckily we moved less than 3 miles down the road and I didn't go over 30mph.

You'll have to do an awful lot of cutting and hammering to get those 32" tires to fit, not to mention a regear to 4.56 for it to run right. That may not be enough lift for those tires.
I put 31" tires on mine with about 3 1/2" of lift and had to do a lot of cutting and a regear to 4.10 for it to run right.

Welp, I finally decided to pull the trigger on 2 Gallons of Monstaliner..... I will be rolling it on and starting teardown on the 14th. Stay tuned for pictures!
Also I:
- Ordered the new JBA track bar ends to halt that pesky clunking about in the rear.
- Installed a new X20 10k smittybilt winch with synthetic line
- Put new 245/75/16 Destination M/Ts on her. Noticeably quieter than my rock chewed, worn out Duratracs. I will definitely post up a review when I take them out to the rocks.

Yesterday afternoon I noticed a loud whine coming from the engine that changed with the RPM. I got to the firehouse, popped the hood and opened the power steering reservoir to notice that it was bone dry. All of the fluid was underneath the Jeep and coated everything.

I drove to NAPA, bought some fluid, put a little in to get me home where I started to investigate. I shot this little gem: https://youtu.be/qoI1-1xJ8eE

So I dropped it off at a local shop this morning, hoping they can get to it today. Otherwise I'll be without the Jeep for the weekend.

Dry it off completely and Gorilla Glue it. That should last the next century or so hahaha.

I'm just not exactly sure where the leak is. I'm hoping there's no damage to the pump

I thought I did too. But I couldn't tell if there was a pin hole or if it was coming out of the fitting. Once it stopped flowing I couldn't see where a hole would be.
