The front end is the only thing I don't like. At least the body colored grill makes it look a little less hideous than the ones I've seen that have chrome grills. I wonder how it would look if you painted the silver area around the headlights.

It is looking good, nice sexy hood! :D
Crappy tires... I like those rims. Would go well with my jeep.

They've been out for some time... Dodge Nitro. I guess it might grow on me.

Seen both in person, not even close.
Nitro is all weird, out of proportion and bloated.
They might run on same platform, but aesthetically, jeep is still cooler.

i agree. it's way nicer looking than the nitro. i like the sport better than the limited & all it's chrome. i just wish they would have kept the spare tire on the lift gate. it looks more classic 4x4 when it's like that.

Since they all come with painted fenders, the only visual differences btwn ltd and sp is the bling they add to ltd..

The Nitro is on a wheelbase that is even longer than the KK which is about 2" longer than the KJ...so they are a bit different. The KK is not for me (from prototype picks) so I traded in my 2002 for a 2006 CRD. I do think the KK looks better (more in proportion) than the Commander...and looks much better than the Nitro.

I can't wait to see some members with the New 2008 Liberty here on the forum and catching the 4x4 "bug"...

with the spare on the rear, I could LEARN to like it , .....well from the windshield back that is, headlights, hood, turn signals...well the whole front end is bad/ ugly! I know what they were going for but they missed the point but it will sell simply because people but the latest / newest!

I played around with MS Paint and filled in the blingy silver areas around the headlights. It looks a lot better. Unfortunately I have nowhere to post the pic.

I like the wheels too. Are they 5 on 4.5 like ours or are they moving to 5 on 5 like the wrangler. I couldnt find it on the jeep site.
The circle-in-square headlights are butt ugly though.

Something about the square head light just don't look like a Jeep product. What is so surpriseing is if I recal correctly when the Hummer first came out their was a big protest by Jeep about the front looking so close to the Classic Jeeps look they were claiming that the Jeeps grill and headlight design was a trade mark for Jeep annd they couldn't copy it. Now they look like any other truck out there, not the traditional Jeep look. Poor placement of the spare Tire what a PITA if your in the mud off road. It wasn't broke and did not need fixing   :(

I never had one, so I don't know, but where were the spare tires on the Cherokees?

some had a holder that was on the rear and most had them inside, easy to get to, stood upright along the left side some thought they took up too much room but it never hurt me any
I must say I have had pick ups with the spare underneath and you never need to get it out of there until youre in mud, its raining or snowing and then of course its dirty, rusty, well just not a good location!
