Would wider tires help the KK track better at highway speeds? I come from the world of sportscars so the constant steering wheel input is something to get used to.

i don't know about wider tires, but if you went with a LT rated tire, you would get feel you probably want...at least that is how it works on mine....personally i love the feel of my BFG'S but i hate the loss of gas mileage.

Factory alignment might be off a bit...stiffer sidewall tires will help...even better shocks/struts down the road

It has been my experience that wider tires will wander more...in general.

I think the stiffer sidewalls is probably the best bet on a vehicle that is less than a month old but I'll have them check aligment too.... gives them something to do.

wider tires will give you more responsive steering, i went from 185 to 225 on my old car and it was night and day, the 225 were much more touchy but felt much safer at highway speeds being that there is more rubber on the ground giving you a wider stance. I got 255's on my kj and it goes fine down the highway

The skinny tires are better at highway tracking... A larger sidewall helps to keep the ruts (from the OTR trucks) from pulling your car in 3 different directions at once. The only time a really wide tire is good is on dry pavement. The rest of the time a normal sized tire works wonders for rain, snow and ice travel.

On my KJ I installed 16x8 rims with 245/70r16 Grabber AT's to replace the stock 225/75r16. They are only slightly wider but combined with less backspacing on the rim the stance is noticeably wider. Wet and dry traction and cornerering improved markedly, although they do wander a tiny bit. They completely transformed the Jeep. I also have another KJ with the stock tires/wheels and hate driving it.

The wider tire/wheel combo on the KJ did require some trimming.

I went from the factory all season to the Revo's in a 245/70 17, they don't squirm on the interstate and track very well, a litle bigger and wider but not as heavy as BFG's, I have always liked Revo's better, they just ride better and don't suck up the gas so much. But e/one has a tire they like, BFG's are excellent but so are Revo's and Geolandor AT's in my opinion. :)
