Does anyone know if the uconnect can access the phone book on the cell phone (Contacts) it is paired to, or do I need to manually enter all of my addresses into the MyGIG? Can't seem to find a method to do this.

I don't have a myGIG radio, but I do have the UConnect. At least in my case, the numbers have to be input into the UConnect - it has no access to the phone book in my phone, although apparently if your phone supports some special feature, you can send the phone book to it somehow.

Thanks. I noticed something called profiles in the bluetooth setup of the phone. Apparently one of the supported profiles is to send the contact list and phonebook over to another device, with the exception of audio devices. Unfortunately, the Uconnect system gets paired as an audio device.

I'll double-check but I believe it is possible to download the phonebook from your cellphone. I will have a look in the MyGig manual, but I seem to recall seeing the command to "Download". I was surprised because there is no voice prompt or text prompt, but apparently it's somewhere in settings.

I'll have a look and get back to you!

*Edit* Of course, like anything, your mileage may vary. I'm sure it will depend on the type of phone you have...

You have to have a bluetooth phone with OBEX enabled if you want to download your phonebook entries. If you have a verizon phone you're out of luck. They kill OBEX transfers in their phones. So you have to manually enter the phonebook if you don't have OBEX.
