So, Im in Cincinnati, OH. I was sitting at a light to make a left hand turn into into the left lane, in the ooppsaite direction of me was an armored truck wating to turn right across the intersection, so light turns green and just as me and the armored tuck ar nearly right next too each other , this armor truck guy start pointing frantically at me and and other direction for straight on traffic, so just as I glance to right BAM, I am broadsided and sandwiched between a mack 18 wheeler who ran his light, it pancake the liberty's right rear quarterpanel, right door, front door, basically the whole side, it smased in everything except the front driver seat, I made it out alive, I had so much invested into that Liberty. The insurance listed as totaled. So I had the chance to replace same exact Libby or take cash amount for full price, so I took check for full price. Just happy to be alive, I think that armored truck actually saved me from being completely crushed. I can say that all those airbags did their job, besides from being shaken up ..NO Injuries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

Not sure yet, might go to a sport and do a lift, would be cheaper.

so would a passenger in the right seat survive a crash like that or is the whole side wasted?

awe man I'm really sorry about your Libby... is was a really good looking rig. Hope you stick around and build another one. More importantly I'm glad that you are OK.... an 18 wheeler, I bet I'd almost crap myself.

KK:
Call Jeep corporate. You'd make a great advert for the 5-star crash rating:
http://www.jeep.com/en/2008/liberty/safety_security/five_star/
Maybe you'd get a new KK out of it. Just a thought... It's one thing to hear some commercial about how some quasi-government organization gave a vehicle a good crash rating and it's quite another to hear it from somebody who personally survived what you did...

Glad to hear you made it out alright KK! I know one thing, after making it out of an accident like that, I'd buy me another Libby, sounds like it did you right!

I'm a new owner / member that's glad to hear you're o.k! And I'm also really happy that I bought a KK, now knowing that basing my decision on safety was the way to go! For years I worried about my S10 Blazer not having any rear seat headrests, let alone air bags! Get on the horn with Ma Mopar and let them get the pictures out there for the rest of the people looking at getting a new vehicle. You could potentially save lives!
