Post subject:  Water leak?

Howdy, I have a question about the driveshaft/transfer case/rear differential. Are any components related to them, midway along the underside of the Jeep, water cooled? The reason I ask is recently (in the last two months), I have noticed cool water dripping down the side of some foil-covered material on the underside of my KK. The "leak" comes from somewhere above the exhaust, just above the drive shaft. I have smelled and felt the fluid and it seems to be water. To touch, the shiny (foil-covered) piece seems to be cooled, as if it is covering some cooling equipment. Could I be about to explode, or is it just condensation. The "leak" doesn't last long after turning of the engine. And after sitting overnight, there's nothing underneath a clean parking spot on the driveway - which leads me to think that it could be condensation, just like you might find under an air conditioning compressor when it's running on a car. Any insight would be appreciated.

I broke 5000 km today at work - she's a dream to ride. Hopefully she's not ill with a leak.

Cheers,
Richard.

Yes it is Water condensation from your AC unit. Is the water coming from a tube from around the foiled area.... if so, that is what it is...

Thanks, I can't really see the source of the dripping. Does the ac unit have components toward the middle of the Jeep? The dripping is coming from midway along the underside, not underneath the engine block.

Also, the dripping occurred today even though I had not been running the ac.

The A/C drain is on the firewall but it can travel on items before dripping on the ground so it appears to come from another area.Your fine.

Your A/C will run on many setting on the HVAC unit to help dry the air out better, and help keep the A/C pump lubed up to prevent leaks.
