I need to change our oil before a long trip but it is before the oil change notice has come on... is it possible for me to do so and resset the light without it being on?

What are the perimeters that the computer looks at for the indicator for oil change? Can I have the dealer increase the mileage (assuming it is mileage based) since I am using synthetic oil? I am taking it in again tomorrow to have the tranny looked at... jumps in Odrive too soon.. lugs alot, feels like the trans slips occasionally on the interstate when at cruise speeds (70 or so) and then if accelerating and a slow speed. Plus after my trip to New Orleans, it sounds like it is slightly louder when driving.

Nope, not with the type of system you have.By running synthetic oil does not mean you can run longer between oil changes, you need to do a oil analysis to determine the change intervels for extended change intervels and the only oil that I would ever consider going past 3000miles on would be Amsoil(though I would never go past 3000miles anyway) and using there EA seris filters,Amsoil might go 6000-7500 miles depending on how you drive.
