Post subject:  Silverstars for the turn signals....

Has anyone used Silverstars for their front and back turn signals? On the Mazda 3 I had, I replaced the front turn signals with Silverstars, and they were still going strong after I traded it in a year later. I really like the look, but are the front ones a bear to get to to change out??? I see how to get to the back turn signals. And I know they last a lot longer if you handle them with gloves on when you're installing them.
Would like to see pics if anyone has done this. Thanks everyone for a great site!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

I have silverstars for my rear but changed the front ones to clear bulbs... it only takes a quick zap from the drimel and they'll fit.

to get to the fronts, you have to go behind the wheel well

Digger is correct, to change the front ones just remove the plastic revit things and pull the plastic finder material out of the way. There should be enough room to fit your hand back there and remove them.

Thanks for the pictures.....looks really nice. Has anyone tried the chrome dipped bulbs? I really like the Silverstars since I've had them before in another car. Since I have the Limited with all the chrome I was thinking of the chrome dipped ones. Any thoughts on that.....???????

I used the chrome dipped ones on my KJ before my KK, had the bulbs for about 2 years with no probs and they worked great. I say go for it.

I haven't look at the rivets, but if the ones have to be cut, harbor freight has a new plastic rivet gun for like 10 bucks

Nope they pop out with a flat head. Chrome dipped would give the "clear" look. No one around here sells them and I didn't want to special order them. Chrome bulbs are a nice choice if you can find them.

Looking for the Silverstars and found some. The number on them was 1157. Will those fit?? I see in the manual that the turn signals are 3757.
Thanks :)
