this part of CA is often above 100 F. To get good cool air, we have to run the AC unit on recirc. Everytime you turn the car off, then restart it, you have to push the button again to put the AC back in the recirculate mode. Why can't the thing remember that and leave it there until I change it again.

Same here is South Florida, rickm. I would almost always have the A/C set to recirculate because it's easier to cool air that's already cool, rather than try to cool 95° F outside air.
Somewhere I read that Chrysler did this because the constant recirculation of the inside cabin air causes it to become "
stale". I suppose if you smoke or prouduce a lot of flatulance
this would be true. I would still like to have the option for it to be on Recirculate just as I left it when I turned the engine off.
