Post subject:  KK Renagade?

Well ive been thinking and calling around but no one seems to know has anyone tried or thought about the Renny light bar on an 08? Ive seen some photoshops but you can never tell with photoshop how its really gonna look someone at a dealership told me the wireing would be nearly impossible to set up. what do you guys think

well, the wiring would not be "nearly impossible". geez, they're just lights... maybe it wouldnt install EXACTLY how it does on the kj, but if you can install some other lights on the KK, why not the rene lights? THEYRE JUST LIGHTS!

so, that shouldnt be a problem at all. as far as actually mounting them? that could be tougher, but would certainly look very cool. no one will no until you try it! :D

Why don't you just put a roof rack and mount 2 pair of Hella lights. That about $300-400.

it was a ruff photoshop and im no expert so im gonna leave that to someone that can do it justice lol. what im worried about is if the roofs have the same concave if not it might break the plastic eventually and a 400 dollers is kinda alot. as far as hellas go roof rack mounting in my eyes dosent look as good as a renny bar would all the dealerships told me they wouldent do it cause of the warrenty so i still continue to pick my brain

I wont do the roofrack with lights I dont like how they look. tommarow im going to call around some junk yards and see if i cant find a wrecked renny. As they say one mans trash plus if i can get one for 50 bucks who cares if it breaks also i could heat mold it even tho it would be a pain

you could fab some sort of shims to go under the plastic base plate of the light bar to account for the difference in the roof, possibly.

Good luck with the 50 dollar find, most yards want 175/200 or so that I have found. The curvature is a lot different for sure, would have to do a lot of work I would think and still may end up with a mess.
But hey go for it!

What does that have to do with your warranty?? why would "all" dealerships, say that they wouldn't do a light bar because of warranty? Sounds wrong. Auxillary lighting has nothing to do with warranty and there is absolutely no reason I can think of as to how it would effect it.

ok so how about an update on this well i was lucky enough that i called the right dealership they had a renagade that a lady bought that dident want the light bar..... dont ask me people are strange they where about to throw it away so i said would you mind if i came and took it they said fine and i was hella excited so anyway i get there pick it up and bring it home i put it on my roof and it looked really bad it dident fit the roofline at all and it just looked out of place on the kk i was dissapointed but good news my friend has an 08 patriot and now hes gonna use it it looks pretty good on the patriot or at least i think it will i will post some pics once he has it on. and one more thing i am probly gonna buy a roof rack or get my uncle to weld me one and it will be a full rack so it will go front to back and ill put some lights on the top.

interesting. well, i guess someone had to finally try it! sorry it didnt work out though. i imagine it might look better on the patriot due to the round headlights, but i think it will still have roof line problems.

as far as your lighting situation goes, if you dont want a roof basket, you could just get some cross rails and attach lights to those. plenty of people have done that on all kinds of vehicles!

Is anyone gonna get this thing . . . I am curious about the quality and fit. I think it is one of those things that you won't know until it is in your hands.
