exhaust smell

well i put on my flowmaster about 3 weeks ago and still im getting the smell you know the smell if you have ever got an aftermarket muffler when i got magnaflows in my grand prix i had no smell after a week not even anyone know whats up with this is it flowmaster?

not even from the packing? oh geez i think we might have a situation here lol oh well when my motor blows up ill switch it back to stock and get jeep to replace it

Flowmasters don't have any packing on the inside like a Magnaflow does. The exhaust shop may have put some hi-temp paint on over their welds to prevent rust, but that shouldn't smell for 3 weeks... if at all.

Two questions for you Flowmaster fellas . . .

1.) How is the interior noise in the Liberty? Particularly in the back seat. Any droning?

2.) How much fabrication was required to install? I would be getting installed at a Midas, what should I anticipate in terms of installation cost?

Well for me, there is a bit of drone inside, I've never ridden in the back of my KJ though. But after I put the lift and MTs on I can't hear the drone at all. I can still hear it growl though. I love it. I have the Super 44 Off Road Flowmaster btw.

no drone at all in mine... and mine did stink for a little while... as far as fab, if you want to go the cheap way and no welds, less that 20 bucks at auto zone for parts.. 3 clamps and a section of pipe

if you just want it put in with clamps prolly 70 but if you want a tip too it will prolly run around 100
