In the past I have had problems with tie rod ends needing to be replaced on older vehicles. I have a couple of questions:

1. On average (if it is possible to say), how long would tie rod ends and associated parts last before needing replacement.

2. I have noticed that there is some kind of "knocking" - not a clunk, but a knock, if you can imagine that, occasionally when driving over small bumps/pot holes in the road. Is this normal? - I'm thinking that there might be some slight expected noise as the suspension quickly compresses and releases when driving over small bumps.

What do you guys think? Thanks.

depending on the types of roads your driving on, they should last a very long time. and your front end "knock, mine does the same thing, i just attribute it to the moving of the suspension
