Was wondering what the KK would look like it if it had headlight covers (body color matching) similar to what the KJ Renegade front end was like, instead of just one big plastic lens?

I picked up some red electrical tape today, to play around a bit. I don't think it's going to look very good though... The chrome part of the inner housing is spaced a 1/2" to 1" or so behind the clear lens. I think it would give some goofy depth perception when viewed at an angle other then straight ahead. I'll post pics of I can get to it before dark. (darn daylight saving time, it gets dark by 5pm now! )

Not very promising results, I was right that it looks goofy when viewed at an angle. Here are some shots, sorry for mediocre quality as it was getting dark out.

This is the pic where you can see 'behind' the tape a bit because the chrome trim doesn't meet up with the clear lens... I dunno.

I think it would look great, if it was actually done.

I thought about that too, painting the area surrounding the round parts... body color or with VHT NightShade would look good. But I think the clear outer lens is bonded to the rest of the housing. I've heard of people (in different applications) heating the housing in an oven to break the seal, but I'm not willing to try that. When I have some more free time I'm going to take a closer look, and see if the clear lens is in fact bonded to the housing, or if it easily comes apart.

Now I wonder what it does to the light your headlight puts out because I kind of like that look. Looks very old-school jeepish. If they had matching color solution for that I'd so buy one.
