Ok I am looking to get flamed, but I know very little about 4WD.
I know about cars and trucks and Jeeps and how things should work.
I was a mechanic for 8 year in shops, dealership and schools.
But that was 8 years ago.

So my story is my wife got a 08 Limited KK...
It came with Command Track II, it was siting on the dealers lot for 11 months. We got a smoken deal for it.

Now I want to off road, but after reading, I see off road means many differant things.

With only 7.8 inch of ground clearance, I feel we should stick to simple fire roads and possible light duty trails.

Is there a list of pro's and Con for this Command Track II system.
Should I be aware of anything?

If all goes well next year we get a 2.5 lift or 4 inch lift and better off road tires. For now I have the good looking 18 inch rims..

Once we can afford a lift, rim and tires, I hope to get a good set of 16 inchers 16X8, 5 inch back space and +25 off set i think.
but i am still reading on this part.

Major fault will be that electric shifter, and will have zero aftermarket support.GM still has not gotten it right after like 15 years  (the electric shift t-case).It's a no name t-case and not made by New Process/New Venture anymore so good luck.

Umm vary interesting...
This news is not what I expected....
But i will take honesty at this point.

So any off roading should be light and simple?

Well that is fine, If I later on need a better off road Jeep I will get something better....

Or can I swap this out for the select trac that was the opion?
Or is that to hard do to computer stuff ?
This is a crazy idea that will never really happen. until I get a huge pay increase and that will never happen..

I dont think its as bad as what tjkj2002 says. Yes the electric shifter is one more gaget that can fail but its not such crap that you can only do very light stuff offroad.
