Post subject: | Review for IPOD INTERFACE CABLE part no. 82211853 |
I bout this interface cable from lee parts and shipping to 78041 was 96.91 Its just a very simple cable and the install could not be easier. But the interface is awesome! when you first plug your ipod into the ipod's dongle, youll see a chrysler dodge jeep logo, and afterward it will change to a JEEP logo on your ipods screen (VERY COOL) (this logo feature does not work on iphone/ipodtouch, but they do work with the interface) youll be able to control the ipod from your stereo and from the steering wheel buttons... itll display a new tab on your nav radio (iPod) and youll see the song's info on the screen... very cool! you cant play videos or record music from your ipod to your mygig hard drive Now for the fun part The installation manual is freaking confusing since it does not say which radios would be compatible with the cable.... Im almost 100% possitive that it will work on any radio no matter the model (08kk or 09kk) Just look at the cable itself... nothing special about it.... itd be nice if someone without a nav radio could give it a try... Here are the pics ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have this part on order for my jeep however the salesmen said i needed to purchase two parts: Ipod Integration 82211853 - $87.15 Ipod Integration 82210787AB - $25.65 I was told that the first part goes to the glove box and the second part goes from the glove box to the ipod. Is this just a ploy to get more money for accessories? |

The dealer installed the wrong part (i think). This part I plug my iPod in the glove-box and have to use a radio frequency to listen to the ipod and I still need to use the iPod to change track selections. Where did you purchase your part from? |

I went to another dealership today on my way home, and ordered the correct iPod part. We will see in about a week what arrives. At the dealership I purchased the part from said that the part was unavailable and the FM Modulator part was the one that MOPAR sent. Funny I had no problem ordering the part at the other dealership. I just hope that it works. I also spoke to a rep Harmon / Becker yesterday. He told me that I had the right part number and that part is what I needed. He also told me if the Parts dept says that they can't order the part that I could have him call him directly. Now the question I need answered. The salesmen ordered and put the ipod cable in for free (the original FM Modulator part). I gave him the part number I wanted but he put this other part in. Should I take the iPod part I ordered and ask that it be installed for free, or at this point is that asking too much? I was very thankful that originally he offered to pay for and put the iPod cable in for free but it was the wrong part. I gave him the correct part number but his parts guy was the one who said that part could not be ordered and the FM Modulator part would need to be installed. |

Any update on if this will work on the 08's? Could it be the radio software (firmware updates) and not the year? SilverKK09 what version software does your radio have? |

Waiting on the part to see if it actually is the part I need. The salesmen claimed the parts guy ordered this part number but the FM Modulator part arrived. |

It is an 2009 built after Jan 26th, 2009, after the plants reopened. As for firmware I think it is 1.055. Now I do have the question about firmware will a 2008 RER radio be higher in firmware or am I that much behind. I know a lot of people say that 9.0XX is the most recent. |

You can't have a version 1.xxx ... I don't think that exist To check press MENU then System Setup then System Information ... You want to look at the numbers under Application. Firmware version 9.807 is the latest out right now http://mofv.com/mygig/ |
