Start the countdown. I'm going to JBA to have them install the 2.5" on my KK on the 10th! Still kicking around the idea of having the ARB locker installed as well while I'm there.

I feel nearly as excited as when I was awaiting delivery of my Jeep.[/b]

Is JBA doing the install?

Yeah, Marlin is going to set things up. We'll get some pics, I'm sure.

sweet, I'm glad he is finally going to be able to look at one...Good luck, I know you are going to enjoy the lift 8)

I was surprised that he was pretty confident that the 2.5" doesn't require an adjustable rear track bar. I was basically set to have one fabricated, but he didn't see a need for it. I'm looking forward to having this done. Definitely went with the A-arms and steel brake lines!

Part of me really wants to get the ARB locker installed too, but that is going to be a pretty penny. I'm thinking with a 2.5" lift, new tires, and a rear locker, my KK would make FJ's, Xterra's, and H3's look twice.

I'd be pretty much done....unless Bolbemoche goes to market with his bumper. That thing is just nasty looking....I love it. I've already got some Silverstar headlights and fog lights...but I haven't put them in yet. I'd like to get a CAI, but I don't think I'll be bothering with a new exhaust system anytime soon.

I don't think you are going to need a track bar for the 2.5. I do need one for the 4.0...Good choice on the arms and lines 8)

I can't help you decide on whether the locker is feasible of not for you. This is something you are going to have to look at. I would ditch the muffler thought, you will notice a difference not having that big boat of a restriction under there

Congratulations unclejjg!

We're all anxious to see a KK with the JBA 2.5" lift. I'm planning to install it in probably April once my #1 helper (aka retired father) gets back in town from hangin' out in Arizona while I'm here in the midwest.

How much bigger will you be going on your tires. And do you know how big you can go before having your ECU reflashed to accept the larger size.

I plan for 245/70/17, or 30.6" tires. I don't know about the reflash....I'll just have to drive the speed limit and call it a day. I generally go 3 - 5 mph faster than the posted speed, so I should be right on target at speeds above 30 mph if I drive the actual limit.

I have been looking for a Performance Tuner like Hypertech or super chip for the KK but none available as of yet.

I don't know if this holds true, or will hold true for the 09 kk's but b&g pretty much played out to be the only flash that actually did anyting for the older libs

Unclejjg, I know you're not doing this for us, but thanks from your fellow KK owners who will wind up benefitting from JBA's experience installing products on your KK.

Hey, we are all pioneering here. Look at the group of guys on this forum....guys changing bumpers, headlights, adding lifts, interior lighting, all sorts of gadgetry.

We're getting the ball rolling, whether the aftermarket wants to be moving this fast or not! And the best part is it is just in time for the Spring.

yeah I'm counting down the days too for your lift. thou a few days ago I think I have decided to go with the 4" it's gonna take slightly longer to get as the cost is 1000 more, but ira need the extra inches it will be there. just need some more design projects and I'll be set to order and install. oh and take some hot pics of it for all you as I will be putting some 235/85r16 (31.7") on it

Well, after a long day (5 a.m. - 12 a.m.) of driving, waiting, and driving again......I am now home to tell you all about my JBA 2.5" lift. I will post pictures late tonight and do a full review of the product and service.

However, let may say the following now:

1.) If you are worried about the ride quality changing/degrading, you need not worry anymore. My Jeep feels stock, if not better!
2.) Marlin at JBA was really great to work with, and I think he has had the opportunity to take some measurements from my rig and further his understanding of the KK.

3.) And now the stunner: Hindsight being 20x20, I'd opt for the 4" lift, and here is why:
-after driving my lifted Jeep, all of my reservations about ride quality have been relieved. I'm confident that Digger's Jeep must ride as well as mine @ 4".
-while I can not say that my Jeep doesn't look different, nor do I have I compared it to a stock KK yet, I can say that it isn't as drastic a change as I had thought (or at least that is apparent to the eye). I will be taking measurements later.

That's all for now. Pictures and further analysis later.

Here are some quick, lazy measurements to the ground:

Front Skid Plate: approx. 10"
Low point of Frame: 12"
Center Point of Body (whatever you call the painted part): 16"
