Hey guys... here's some before and after pics of my 2008 liberty with the JBA 2.5" kit installed.

Just some quick pics I took tonight after I put the new wheels/tires on after the lift went on. I'll try to get some better comparison pics when the weather's a bit nicer here.

Scar0, I already had the a-arms on when I got your message...I'm going to keep a close eye on it though. It is in the same spot as the slight paint scratch on the right hand side in the second to last pic?

Thanks

Definately man... This is my way of getting ready for the season :)

Now all I need is to stuff away some money to save for some rocksliders and I think I'll be set.

I took some dummy measurements before and after... I'll try to look for those so I can post them... If i remember correctly, the lift itself added just over 2 inches to the measurements I took (front bumper, tow hitch, front wheel well, front door panel, etc...) and the wheels and tires added another 1" 7/8" for the 245/75/16's on top of the lift.

Yep, Looks like your stock A-arm already dented the top of the pocket. Did it cut the A-arm as well? Or did that happen after the install?
Could you post a pic with weight on the front?

I did receive an e-mail from Marlin. I will post it, if I get the OK from him.
Any time you release a new product there is bound to be hiccups.

Your ride is looking real nice! Any issues with the install?

I really need some new shoes for mine!

Your KK looks really good justhangin. I'm glad to see more JBA lifts getting out there. Personally, for an off-roading vehicle I also like the look with your 16" rims and larger sidewall tires (in your last photo). That is kinda the look I'm targeting when I change out my Limited's 17" rims with 16" and some larger shoes after I install my JBA 2.5" lift.

How many miles did you have on your KK before your lift? I'm asking because I ordered my JBA 2.5" lift this week so yesterday I took a few before measurements and was a little surprised that the driver's side had settled so far in stock form to be about 1/4" to 5/8" lower than the passenger's side after only 1,400 miles.

In hindsight, I wonder if Jeep's engineers have wondered if they should've put the fuel tank on the passenger side so between it and a driver, maybe the KK would settle a little more evenly. I dunno. They're probably too busy worrying about their future right now....

I assume by this:

you meant the tires added between 1" and 7/8" in height? (versus 1-7/8"). Just trying to clarify. Also, could you update our KK Aftermarket Wheel and Tire Survey thread to advise any tire clearance or rubbing issues (if you changed from the contribution you've already made to this post)?

Thanks for sharing.

Just hanging,

I've got the 2.5" from JBA too. Yours looks great, but I was wondering what the "Husky" red piece underneath your vehicle was. Is that a aftermarket skid plate?

The colors of the jack matched the color of the springs and A-arms....I was thinking to myself "how did he get an extra piece out of Marlin that I didn't?". hahaha

Looks great! The size tires look right for that size lift.

Yeah I think he meant the lift gave him 2" and the change in tires could not have give him 1" of lift unless he put on 32"s from the stock 29's. What what his stock (previous) tires size?

What is hard for me to see if the 2" of lift. If you look at the side profile before the lift and then after with the tires. The bottom plastic side rail is not really higher from the center of the tire? If you look at others lift you can see you when you lift the truck you get clearance and the side rail is higher from the center of the tire (center of axle)

Haha... Yeah the cheap husky floor jack was an aftermarket add-on. :) You're right it does match the kit though almost exactly.

My original tire size for my limited was 235/60/18 (29.1) and I went up to the 245/75/16 (30.4) so you're right in what you guys said with the tires gaining me just under an inch on thier own. I have to take a couple more measurements once I get a couple hundred miles on the lifted version before I should say the real lift height.

I put the lift on with 9000 miles on it. My "before" measurement was also about a 1/2" lower on the driver's front fender vs. the passenger's. Seems this is a common thing so far?

First impressions are that the lift rides great, a little bit stiffer, but I wasn't overly found of the softness in the stock setup. The tires I think fit perfectly for this height of lift. It almost does look stock since they fill up the fender wells almost the same as the stockers did. There is no rubbing of any kind at full lock in either the fender wells or the steering components. I think the tires/wheels need balancing now that they're on because there's a bit of a shake that starts around 70+ mph.

I drove over to one of the jeep dealers in town today to see if I could park next to a libby, but none were sitting by themselves so I could get a good shot. The next best thing was to park next to my buddy's Xterra and get a couple shots of that to show. And yes I know I was parked illegally in a handicapped spot for 2 minutes while I took the pics :P

E2, did you compare these 2 photos from his post (with the same wheels and tires so all clearance is purely due to the lift)?

Since both the above photos are with the same wheels and tires, all additional clearances are due purely to the lift. Look at the increased spacing from the top of the tires to the bottom of the wheel well openings. You can see the effects of the lift. I recommend looking at the wheel well openings and not the bottom plastic rocker panel below the doors since the two photos were taken from different elevation perspectives.

it looks awsome in the sunlight. the thing thats confusing with the xterra is they are all different hights ive seen ones that are as high compass and otheres that are about as high as my buddys 2500 hd. ive been dying to see this lift next to an h3 and an fj. if you ever see one in a lot take pic it would be cool to see the comparison.

Yeah true about the pics... Some of them are a bit decieving I think. It might have been that I was at different distances and crouching down in a couple vs. standing.
