| Post subject: | Detours Backbone Bumper Winch Mount for The KK |
Well recently I have been in contact with mark over at Detours USA As you may or may not know, Mark produces a simple bolt on winch mount that allows on to mount a winch to the front of their vehicle with little modification. As far as I know, the KJ and KK back bone system are the same as the uni-body underneath of both vehicles are the same. Now there is some minor cutting of the bumper that has to be done, but in the end, this is the fastest way to get a winch mounted to the front of the KK

What a tease..... Who's going to show us a KK with this fully installed (meaning bumper skin reinstalled and winch mounted outside the bumper)? Who is gonna be first to actually really do this? Any takers? |

To avoid "doubling up" on money spent, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people hold out for an aftermarket bumper like ARB's that includes a spot for the winch. Even if ARB ignores us, it is only a matter of time before somebody tries, isn't it. I'd hate to spend X amount of money now, only to have to dismantle it and add something new on. Edit: that's not to say that this isn't a good product. It's a great idea, but I think the KK suffers from a bulky stock front bumper, and I'd rather do it all at once. |

I'm trying a few different things right now to see eif I can get the ball rolling, but waiting for reply's to my emails. ARB is waiting to see a high interest before it sinks money in to a bumper. And with the way things are going, it will probably be a while |
