Does anyone else's e-brake boot not fit when it's down? When it's up (e-brake on) the boot fits perfect but when you lower it (e-brake off) the boot doesn't fit. Here is what I'm talking about ... DOWN
UP

| Post subject: | E Brake Boot |
Hi Mike. Mine has been changed twice by the dealer under warranty. The second time I got a whole new console. I am getting a little p@#$ off my dealed as everytime I take the Jeep in for servicing they want to fix something under warranty, like change the rear glass seal or change the E brake cover. On Monday I took my CRD KK in for a 15000KM oil change. I supply the oil because the Jeep dealer doesn't use the correct oil, next I get a phone call and the dealer tells me they don't have a oil filter in stock for my car, we are over 300KM from the next dealer. Getting back to the boot. Don't let them pull your car apart to replace the boot with a new boot because it will be the same. They need to take your boot to a motor trimmer and have about 1/2" of material added to make it longer. |

Well the first one I had fitted like crap... then the zipper blew out and I got a whole console. The newer one fits way better |

On mine, the zipper blew about a day after I got it. I decided right then that I don't give enough of a crap to care. Some day I'll replace the whole system with a hydro one anyways (to both rear wheels). I wouldn't be surprised if the orange KJ guy came and said "it's not possible", but darn if I don't want to try at least! Anyway, screw the dealer and go get your own aftermarket boot. There should be plenty that fit. |

I don't plan on getting it fixed ... It's not that big a deal to me. I just wanted to see if others were like this and it looks as if there are! |

I just looked at this yesterday and yes it pulls back when brake is not engaged, but not as much as what yours does, and personally if this bothers you I don't think you should have bought a Jeep, I have found tons of paint flaws while I was installing my PPF and frankly what it boils down to is yes is a $20000 something vehicle and for most people its a big purchase, but you can't compare it to exotics and luxury. I worked with these cars for almost a year and yes when you are paying $100000 plus for a car something like this is something to witch about, but on a Jeep come on people |

Dude, what the hell are you going on about? First, I just said above I'm not worried about it just wanted to see if others have this issue. Second, no one is comparing their Jeep to a "100k luxury" car Third, weather it cost 20k or 200k has a Jeep logo or Ferrari logo a problem is a problem. I don't care if I'm paying 20k or 200k, if there is a problem small or large is should be fixed and not just swept to the side because my Jeep is "cheaper" then a Ferrari. The way you just trashed the Jeep brand and I don't think you even deserve to drive your Jeep. I feel bad for your truck. If you dislike it so much then get rid of it. |

I think you have taken my comments a little wrong and maybe just a little to personal For you to notice this and want to know what others are experiencing means you have a taken a very critical eye in my opinion. The way I look at it is you wanted to know if someone else noticed this and if you were the only one would you go back to the dealer and bring it up? If you do then I feel as if you are being too nit picky, that is what my comments were geared towards and it has nothing to do with a Jeep. I'll make the same comments to someone owning a Mercedes C class and thinking they are owning a S class. yes have pride in your vehicle, but I guess what I'm saying is don't have hand made expectations when it came down an assembly line. If it wasn't for the PPF I won't have never noticed the paint flaws that I found |

Where did I ever post about taking it back to the dealership? You need to learn to read ... I was asking if this was just with mine or if others had this issue. I never complained about it, I never said I'm going to the dealership and I never said it was a problem for me and it must get fixed now ... You should learn to read the whole thread. "I don't plan on getting it fixed ... It's not that big a deal to me. I just wanted to see if others were like this and it looks as if there are!" and like I said ... I don't care if it cost 20k or 200k if something is wrong it's wrong, end of story. It's not "nit picky" to say there could be something wrong with your NEW car/truck. If you don't care about the quality of your car/truck then sorry for you but if I'm buying something NEW I expect a certain amount of quality and if it's not there I expect it to be fixed. |

once again, I will point out that I was making general comments to thsi fact and it was just your interest that you were looking to see if others are experiencing this. Once again a general comment and I would like to say we have given a nice little popcorn episode here and one more tihng, you bring something like this up in a public forum you are bound to get someone elses opinion, regardless of your intentions |

I had the same problem although I didn't notice it until a service tech pointed it out when I got my EVIC replaced. They took care of it since it was under warranty. It actually works fine now. I think they just wanted something to do. Otherwise it probably would have gone unnoticed by me. |
