Post subject:  Insulation Falling Out

Backstory: While driving on I280 I had someone pull next to me honking there horn and pointing to the ground. I quickly pulled to the shoulder believing something was wrong with my tires. As I looked down there was a large black bag coming out from where the door and wheel well meet. As i examined it there was a spongy material inside. Not knowing what do to i stuck it back the whole it was coming from. Called my dealer and they told me it was likely insulation that became lose. I had a foot long piece of insulation sticking out. Going to the dealer soon but was wondering if anyone has had this happen to them? Car still under warranty but should this be something to worry about?

:o

I had that happen on my psng side as well. I just pulled it out and chucked it into the garage and promptly forgot about it, can't be that important if it isn't even glued in and has no bolts or electrical connections :P

I too had this problem at less than 4000 miles on the Jeep. I shoved it back in and it came out a second time. Took it to the dealer for it's first free check -up and made them fix it. Haven't had a problem since (12,300 on vehicle now). ,

FWIW, I think it is just a sound isolator so not too important.
