Ok so what are the known good wheel sizes... The wife is warming up to idea of new tires and wheels. We have the 18 inch limed chrome rims. now. They need to go. 235/60/18 is the size i am 95% sure... I would like more side wall and a wider verity of tires to pick from. then 1 day it will get a lift, most likey 2.5. But Wheel and tires come first. Once lifted we can bet bigger tires if needed. So what are the number I need to look for. I heard 5 inch back spacing. Is 17 or 16 better... What other question do i need to andwer to get the best help. I think i want a 265 series time. but i am willing to listen to any one with good advice. |

it depends on what kind of wheels and tires if your looking for "flashy" wheels then 17s are a better choice but if you want the most sidewall and or mtrs then 16 are the way to go. i think the biggest someone has fitted on stock with 16s is 250 as far as backspacing i have 4.5 and a little bit of wheel hanging out the side i really like the look of it but if your only doing a 2.5 inch lift probly not the way to go. |

The "taller" and "wider" you want to go with NO LIFT the lower the offset of the wheel needs to be. As an example I have 255/70-16 which works out to being 30.3" tall and 10.2" wide. I don't have any rubbing but it's because I have a +25 offset wheel. Stock is +40. If you want to get a 265 tire you need to look at wheels with at least a +25 and no more then a 60 profile. 265 is pushing it with no lift. The lower the offset the more the wheel will stick out past the fender. Which is what you need to get a wider tire under there with NO lift. The 265 was just a starting point. I am more than happy to go 245 or 255... 16 sounds good to me... Thank you for the data, this really helps... Mike any way to get some shot of how your stance look front and rear view. Showing how wide the tires look from the back. I like the idea of no rubbing and 255 70 16.. sound good to me... |

I think the best size would be a 255/65-16. That will give you a lot of width but keep the height close to stock. You can get a good aggressive off-road tire in that size and you won't have to worry about a bigger tire and losing gas mileage. With my 30.3" tire I have noticed a decrease in MPG (which is expected) Another a good size to look at would be 245/70-16 that will give you 29.7" of height and 9.8" of width. It will open up your wheel options and you won't need to find a wheel in the low offset range. A wheel in the +30 +35 range should work out pretty good. |

245 70-16's will work on the stock 2008 KK? I have some on my 2000 WJ that are going to be removed when I get the bigger tires to go with the 3" lift. They have excellent tread left and would like to replace the OEM KK tires with these if possible. Thanks. |

Thats what I have on my KK, 245/70-16.To me a perfect fit.No rubbing or bottoming out on inner fenders. |

16's give you the most side wall since we can't run 15's on the KK. Do the pinch weld mod and you way more wheel offset choices and can run a bigger size.
