Ok. So just used the bracket from the light and went into the bumper.
Was looking at the tow hook mount today and it be nice but sits back pretty far.
I'll have to take some measurements and go straight up I guess

Yea nothing fancy. I basically just held it up there and dug around my garage for some scrap metal that would hold it up!

So after a few months of really getting into metal working and fabrication I decided to make a little something to stick on my Jeep. Just a little ornament.

It came out ok - my intent on using nuts/bolts in the design kind of limited how it came out but overall I am pretty happy with it. You gotta start somewhere, right? It's 1/8" steel with a bolt welded directly to the back for mounting it to my grille guard, haha. Valspar 'brilliant silver' is the paint I used. Not quite as 'chrome' as I was hoping for but not bad.

It all starts here for me - keep your eye on me! One day I'm gonna be cool like Morgan haha

Did this go anywhere?

I am interested in one or just everything that went into it because I wouldn't mind making one of my own.

I have a feeling that the stock track bar could actually be pulling the driver side of my jeep down.

...something on the roof...
...something to light the road...
...something to tow behind the jeep...
...remote start...

Installed ATH ditch light brackets powdercoat is a silver vein, really sets it off. Made a quick mount that goes behind the front t license plate to mount a small 11" single row bar. All wired to one switch. ImageImageImageImageImage

Did you put any sealer behind the ditch brackets? I got mine all painted and ready to mount, but putting holes in the body has me slightly concerned about rust/water.

I did on mine. I do it for every hole I drill, including the screws for my CB antenna mount. I forgot what I used, but it's a clear silicone caulk basically. My dad is a commercial roofer so we have all those awesome waterproofers available to us.

Popped off all the fender flares and coated with Dupli-Color bed liner. First Jeep project my 7-year-old son helped me with!

Looks great!!

For some additional low cost mods, you could bedline the grille to match. There's also a headlight black out mod if you like the KK Renegade look to match the fenders.

Here's the thread, although Photobucket is holding all the original pics hostage. The written description of how to do it is pretty detailed though.

Thanks, lfhoward. Definitely gonna do the grille, and maybe even the headlight blackouts. Considered taping off the hood and spraying the center for the Renegade look. Cant see spending $50 on a hood decal over $2 of paint and an hour or two of fresh air and vitamin D.

Got rear ended today at a traffic light. It wasn't too bad damage, mostly cosmetic to the bumper cover. The worst that happened is that my trailer electrical connectors got smashed, so I won't be able to tow until I get them fixed. One is a standard 4-pin and the other is a custom 12 pin NATO adaptor for my military trailer. I will need to remake that.

The other vehicle was a WK, so not much damage to his bumper either, except cosmetic. The bumper skin on the WK got a bit of road rash from my hitch. I think the impact was probably less than 25 mph.

Nice that we both had Jeeps. These vehicles are tough. If he had been driving a Civic or a Camry then it would need to be towed home!
