Yup! It's very much repairable actually. It could have been much worse and still been repairable.

Today was a great day for the KK!
1) Installed home-brew roof bars (surprising how good the 3/4 inch diameter, 60 inch long galvanized pipes actually look).
2) Installed a used Rola roof basket up there (Thanks, Sport from Delaware!)
3) Picked up a lightly used JBA 4 inch lift kit (Thanks, Hislop from Long Island!!!)

That's right a JBA 4 inch kit!!! WHOOT!!! :pepper: :pepper: :pepper:    :-)r
Image

The kit is short an adjustable trackbar, so if anyone has a spare JBA adjustable track bar lying around, shoot me a PM!
Cheers, everyone! :D

Is the 4" JBA kit the one with the adjustable coils up front? Or do they make another 4" kit?

They're adjustable.

Sooo jealous. I still have to wait till I graduate my PA program in 2.5 years before my wife will let me get the JBA 4". I'm curious to see the roof rack also.

It really is sad.
She seemed to be OK, but then again, we were both OK immediately after the crash...

The next day is when I felt like crap!

Of course I have pics:

Her minivan, which obviously shows that she went UNDER me:

The Jeep, which looks fine in this photo, the dent in the door is barely visible:

My now really screwed up alignment:

Marlon, so sorry to hear of your accident. Last November someone hit my Jeep in the rear tire (same basic angle as you) while it was parked. They came around the corner too quickly and didn't make it, where my Jeep was parked in front of my house on the street. Your damage looks almost the same. Nothing too bad was visible at first, but I had a screwed up alignment and a tweaked rear axle. Your steering wheel is not straight when you are driving straight because your rear axle is slightly diagonal after the crash. My damage turned out to be pretty expensive to fix, but my auto insurance handled it (after my deductible). There are steel "wings" (for lack of a better term) on your rear axle where the control arms connect-- mine were bent. They can't be straightened because they would be weaker afterwards, so I ended up with a replacement axle (not brand new, but works fine). Also I got a new rear bumper, fender flare, and some body work on the quarter panel. Good luck with the repairs!

Keep an eye out on the forums (not just the for sale forum, but your local LOST forum too) for used parts. That's how I got my JBA kit. The previous owner sold his KK but removed his lift first, and then sold it to me. It's only a year and a half old, but never wheeled hard, and not nearly as expensive as if I paid retail for it.

OK, Pics as promised! It's rainy and dreary outside, and these are phone photos, but you get the idea. I plan to paint the bars (although painting galvanized steel seems like it's going to be a process) and sand the rust off the rack and repaint that too. It will have to wait until I have nicer weather, though. Beginning with a zoomed out shot, and getting closer so you can see the mounting details...

That's exactly what they replaced, but they said my axle is fine.

But I'm concerned because my steering wheel is still off. Did they not actually perform an alignment or is something STILL wrong?

After fixing everything my body shop sent my Jeep to a specialty shop to be professionally aligned. You can ask your body shop if they did this. If something is still wrong with the axle brackets or control arms, and they can't align it properly, then the body shop should have to take it back and your insurance should pay. I know it's a hassle, but it would be worth it in the long run.
